. Picking at the lawn yesterday for weed grass I think its bit of OCD in me when I see Poa Annua or any other weed in the lawn , while sorting the lawn out I heard next door kids call me a idiot they seem to of forgot the window was open, well I am pretty sure they were referring to me. I would of excepted odd or a bit eccentric but idiot not very nice , makes you wonder what your neighbours think of you behind closed doors.

I’m just glad I work behind a fence most the time .

DrCase: Thank you for the intelligence! I must ask my little emperor, but he has iphone 6.

Yesterday, at 2pm on the dot, it sleeted for about 5 minutes. It was literally raining tiny pebbles. I remember telling Ben, the next allotmenteer, that it would frost on Sunday and that it might be dangerous to have his 30 sweetcorn seedlings out. He said it was OK. Well, I will find out later this week.

Not much rain, but a lot of horrible noises from the wind buffeting tall trees around. For once, I thought I lived by the seaside. My heart sank when the much anticipated rain on Friday turned out to be on France. I need at least 10 butts worth of water.

Another cold day. Yesterday, I sowed some lettuce seeds, some web lettuce seeds and some salad leaf seeds in the ground after layering the soil with coffee grounds. As long as the seeds germinate, it will be fine. I'm worried that the layer of dirt is not thick enough. But it rained and hopefully, they will respond to the warm soil which had been inside the conservatory.

I also sowed aubretia and rock rose seeds. I really like my aubretias which are already draping down the horrible dwarf walls. better than ivy which I'm frantically trying to get rid of.

This year, I am very happy to have sown some viable seeds

Stipa Gigantea. Now I know that there are S gigantea seeds which will never germinate.

And that Abutilons are more robust than I thought. A very useful plant for a house - it literally flower well into early winter. Had a rest and comes April, already smothered with flowers.

This morning, on the way to the hen coop, I saw a bird with a long yellow stripe on the side. I was so annoyed that I had such poor eye sight and couldn't focus on its beauty. Then it flew to my roof top. It even sang a different tune! Blast! I took a video of another bird in a hurry and it anticlimaxed to be a sparrow! Grrrrr!!

Helper came and out came some panels for the louvre window. The poor bloke really loved erecting greenhouses. He said he was cussing and cursing cutting the panels and yet when the louvre window was up, it was GLORIOUS! It was not perfect, but hey, a lot of recycled stuff and it worked. He sure had a kind heart or in a good mood and now he offered to divert my water to the end of the garden using a different location. I am not sure I like the idea. The water butt was at least 30 years old and no mossies could lay eggs in there as it was sealed properly. I love old stuff - well made and no built-in obsolescence.

Helper was clearing the greenhouse floor so that if any broken glass fragments fell onto the floor, they wouldn't be trapped by the pots and plants. Out came ONE iris in FLOWER! Imagine my delight.

I finally dug up my Costoluto Fiorentino seedlings in a tiny gap outside the greenhouse. After seeing allotmenteer Richardus's huge tomato plants grown inside big £1 pink buckets in his made shift greenhouse, I realised how out of depth I was. So out they came and they went into 3L pots.

I thought there was some paranormal activity going on in my house. I keep hearing some gurgling noises and was really spooked. I went to the kitchen to investigate. It turned out to be old Bosch fridge. What a relief!

Couldn't capture the bird, bug will do!

Spanish bluebell which escaped its death knell. I will get rid of it, but the pink one can stay. More photos to come.
