Yes, quite true. But it's along journey to see one house. So might regroup when I have more houses to see. One very good house in a posh area in this borough. Posh means good schools. I don't really care about posh.

Good morning to a much milder morning. Looking forward to 14c this weekend. Son finally has a job! Finally!

Alp, that's great news about your son.:)

Haha! He says he's going to make some "bread" and feed me! So glad that he would be trained to work and given a chance to interact with other people.

Have not worked in the garden at all. Turned down the heating now that son is not here. Electricity bills DD had gone up to £22. I cancelled the DD so as to have more control. They said it would cost a bit. I don't care. I just want to find out how much I actually spend. Usually, I spent about £10 in summer months. But now the DD has gone up to £16 and now, they ask for £22. I prefer to pay a bit more than getting paranoid. Brought in the cannas. Tomorrow all the begonias and petunias. This American woman coming to view my house said my house was too small for her. She should have gone with me to view the houses in Basildon. Wonder what kind of big house she is renting in Ilford which is more expensive than houses here!

Yes we don't have DD for gas and electric, hubby reads the metre at the end of the month and sends it online.

I think I will do the same. Strange as Ebico has already been bought up by SSE and I had an SSE installed Smart meter, but nobody has joined up the dot.

Evening , done more bulb planting yesterday - Allium purple rain / Miami - Gladiolus byzantinus - crocus . Shuffled a few plants around in the front garden to get a nice spot for the gladiolud chopped another allium in half  . Cut back a little spirea and the giant fuchsia behind the GH. Planted out some of my wallflowers, I've got really good plants this year with starting them early. still got 50 tulips to plant in the bed next ot the GH hoping for a big show this year.

Popped round to my mum this afternoon and planted some bulbs for her about 50 in total, it like a quarry my mums garden every hole you dig out loads of stones / concrete.

Went to the GC as well on the way home needed some compost, picked up a bag and some black viola. I ran out of bonemeal a few weeks back were going to get some off amazon 7kg for £10 but GC had a bucket 10kg for £10 (y).

I am going to one of my best friends Wedding this Thursday, for a gift they have asked for money to put towards their honeymoon but I am unsure how much to give any ideas how much would be appropriate ? I've already put half for suit hire £50 .

Good morning to all! Didn't want to get up too early for fear of waking up son. He said it wasn't busy at all.

I will check out Effect. I'm with Zog for gas as well, Logan.

Perki - £15 to 25 is plenty towards a honeymoon. You could throw in a plant if you pay £15. £50 for suit hire is quite a lot. Why not go round charity shops to hunt for one? It would be yours to use for a while. Last time I looked with my son, they cost £14.99 for a whole suit but the elbow area looked a bit tired, so we didn't buy it. There were two. Kind of jealous to see you in such a lot of action. But frankly, my garden is already teeming with plants. Now that I have dug up most of my hellebores, I have even more pots. My son loves charity stuff. He loves a brand new T-shirt and a pair of trousers. Shame that he's only 26 to 28 in waist, that pair of trousers is worn around the leg edges. But the quality is plain to see. Not so with those new ones from Primark!

I prefer to buy from ebay rather than Amazon as the latter too greedy. Glad that you had a bargain. Love a bit of BFF and I still have 2 or 3 in the garage!

  • Livin Farms has developed a $140 home incubator for mealworms
  • Owners feed the worms food scrap and other waste
  • Habitat will produce 10-20g every week while still keeping the system running

I used to buy live mealworms from a bird food company. They would be sent in newspaper in a hesian sack in a box. It was very fiddely try to get them off the paper and into containers with holes in. I'd do it on the garage floor and they would try to escape. Used to feed them on bran, they would produce a fine powder that i would have to seive out. If they were kept too long they would change into bugs.:)

Now can get dried worms, but i don't bother anymore.

Whoa! That must cost an arm and a leg. I hated garden worms until I found out how good they are to gardening.

Feeling guilty clicking like. Driving from Newcastle to Brighton is not funny at all. Glad that you're staying for the night. By the look of it, tomorrow's weather might be even worse. We have had no rain. Get your son to learn to drive please as it is such a long journey for one man to take. Make sure you keep warm and take breaks.
