Hi I am still here not been sacred off ;)

It started raining now but been fine most of the day. Finished cutting grass last week at work so doing hedges now which makes a nice change but heavy work doing it nearly all day.

Christmas shopping  Good luck zenji you'll need it ;). Never been fond of Christmas to much hassle for one day (n), I've always said don't get me anything but normally get something I don't need / want, I rather have a bag of compost for xmas at least it will get used

Been out shredding dahlias and replanting some hellebores and irises. One iris died a terrible death in a pot. Must have been a precious one, forgotten by me. In a pot means special. Ah, no more. The heat in the summer has done so much damage.

Didn't realise that I wrote something earlier and had forgotten to post if. Roasting pork and chicken at the same time and hope they last the whole week. The house smell rosemary and garlic - very nice.

I don't think I need to cut any grass, but quite want to hoover the lawn. Friend said his two neighbours had installed astro turf and would come out to hoover the turf in the morning and jet wash the turf to rid of dog mess.:eek: Even he said they looked very nice! Not my cup of tea, astro turf.

I never want to buy any card for any birthday and ex was very mad at me! Some auntie would send him a birthday card every year and he thought she was nice. This same lady sent my son birthday card and yet at 21, she stopped. How peculiar! She even told my ex. Also, the prices of every possible Christmas present jump up from last month onwards. I would avoid buying anything now as it is torment for the delivery men and road accidents are rife. I would rather give son money and ask him to buy something AFTER Christmas. I would like to have a good pair of secateurs for Christmas. I think gardening tools are more useful to us! Don't you think, @Perki !

Reckon @Zenj must be bleeding when he sees the inflated prices:inpain:. Should have started hunting for them half a year in advance. It's difficult as children's wish lists can be so changeable and you do want to see them happy at Christmas time. Childhood memories are so important!

Good morning and it looks like it's going to be a good day

Will do some more viewings today. A lovely house was sold yesterday before I can see it today!:banghead::inpain:

@Zenj You had a good day yesterday? Cake and then some? LOL! Our town centre was well stocked with kids' stuff yesterday and it has already been decorated with deep purple Xmas trees everywhere. As @Perki said, so much fuss for one day!

Morning all :D

Looks OK out there at the moment but from 11am onwards we are set for heavy rain showers with a moderate breeze . :(

Grocery shopping this morning and then hubs is plumbing in the washing machine....yay!! at last.

Think Christmas is lovely for those who have young children around them. Keeping up the magical belief of Father Christmas and seeing their growing excitement as the day draws nearer is a pure delight.

But once their belief has gone it then comes down to adverts brainwashing them into wanting to have the latest ' must have toys '
They are persuaded to write letters to Santa....great long lists of what they are hoping to receive at Christmas! This can put a strong sense of pressure on some families who know that they can't afford to meet these expectations, making some to even take out loans to cover the cost. The spirit of Christmas is then , in my opinion, lost!!:(

Have a fab day!:)

Quite agree, @Upsy Daisy ! Everything is business bucks.. Even Hallowe'n is commercialised. School children are under pressure to buy the gory clothes and props. Great that your washing machine has finally arrived. Mine is still defective but I won't chuck it until it has totally stopped working. We are wet here, but seems to be a good deay. Off 9.30 and it will be a day of driving round and round.

Mahonia's scent is so incredibly beautiful. Today, I was very naughty and plunged my nose into someone's trolley. Ah, sooo sweet and fragrant. Neighbour seemed to have been fed up with his and chopped them off! Such a shame.

@Zenj You must be living in a new built and there is a wonderful microclime as your cosmos are still very fresh in colour and looks healthy. What is the name of the first beauty please?

Seen so many houses and still missed the one son is keen on, but that's a terraced which I don't like. All the new builts have been tugging my heart's string, but the size of the garden ruled all of them out. One house has granite flashback and granite worktop. Very nice and some very tastefully decorated. Some women just have very good taste, unlike my white, white, white. Duck blue, light green and even deep red to the degree of bloody dark red. I personally don't like it as this country is dark enough. But hey, they work as an ensemble.

:(:( . There will be a house and garden out there for you, you never know the perfect one could come on the market next week. :)(y)

This one is more or less on its own plot and has land all around it. Best of all £300 and I don't have to be nasty!

Good morning to each and everyone!:D

The day has started off fine again, I can even see blue sky with a hint of sun but.........rain is on the horizon for most part of the day....again:(

Not sure what I will do today garden wise as we had so much rain yesterday the ground is still quite soggy.
Really need to restock on potting compost, so as to be ready for seed sowing to start end of next month.
Apart from that......housework I expect.(y):)

Have a restful Sunday (y)
