What fungal disease have your Hellebores got @alp ? Mine have some of that black spot on their leaves, I remove the affected leaves and burn them.

Don't think slugs are the culprits as there isn't a give away slime trail.

The surface soil in each pot is dug up.

Yes, black spots on the petals as well. I never had black spots on petals. Funny thing is that I still have buds coming up! So pleased. Normally, they went to seeds very quickly. The flowers were perfect, but this year, there were quite a few blemishes. The lovely hellebores bought from Wales have wet patches on them as if troubled by something. The Nigers have rotten in the middle. But I must say, most of the flowers from that place are gorgeous, but seem to be very diseased prone.

The surface soil in each pot is dug up.

Could be rats or squirrels? I saw one traversing my garden yesterday with another peanut in its mouth.

You could put anything that you've been growing in doors.

I am scared that it might kill my cannas. They are covered with holes, but I know they will be OK once they are out. I don't even know what to treat them with. I might put the salvias there.

NO!.....Rats and squirrels can't get in the cold frames, but there were tiny gaps that field mice could enter by......but hubs has fixed that now

Field mice?? I'd love to see one! Thank heavens that we definitely don't have them here!

That's great about your weather and to get that aubretias.

Going to see my favourite dentist for 9pm, only for a checkup but i know everything is ok.

Do some more pricking out seedlings this afternoon, doing some more cosmos. The snapdragons and ergeron are ready as well, don't know if i'll have time to do all of them.

I know. I can only send you these - ! Such terrible weather in Newcastle and worse is yet to come. Here I am in a short sleeved T shirt and sunshine pouring in from my massive bay window. I so wish I could send you some sunshine! ! Keep warm and keep safe.
