Good morning to all: It's snowing feathers in Essex. The ground is wet, so it must have rained and there are very slight patches of dusting flour, but not serious. Well, snow is on its way.

We had a lovely day yesterday and the beautiful weather to go with it. Hopefully, we can go out and see a bit more today.

Morning , grey , dry but no snow here :(.

Won't be doing much in the greenhouse today , as everything is well and truly wrapped up for the duration of this cold snap.

Instead we will be doing the weekly shop and paying my Dad a visit

Such a lovely warm day yesterday ,today will be a shock to our systems!.

Where are you planning on going today @alp?

Was thinking of going to Homebase to get a box and look around, but the snow has really set in. Trouble is we have to the gcs nearly once every week and there really is nothing new to see. So might just stay home and tidy up loose end and sow some rock rose and others.

I so want to go out as the air doesn't agree with me and there is some tightness in my chest. I'm getting boring now. I love your penstemons / salvia cuttings. You're brilliant. By the way, how do you do your camellia cuttings please? I'd love to do some although only one per plant as my plants are fairly young. I am so happy with my camellia bush. This year's flowers are the prettiest! So happy! Hard wood or soft wood and how long please?

Yes, it's hit and miss taking cutting. That's why I like layering, but not everything can be layered. When I saw £5 scanned for that plant which is just one stem of 4 inch tall, I was disgusted. When the weather is better, I'm going to a big depot which sells mainly gardening to see if I can get a white one with less money. I might have a go using my big camellia bush, well, biggish.

Told son to get me some bay leaves, he came back with leaves from cistus!

I had to hibernate as my heart burn didn't finish until 1.30pm. They say the weather is going to be worse from 4pm. Wonder they refer to Scotland or Land's End. Such generalisation makes no sense and serves no purpose!

13 middle wings should cause heart burn! Talking of which, I would like to cook some more. We had a long day out and even 6 different murder stories could not revive me and when I went to bed, I just couldn't fall asleep. That might be the reason. Sow some more agapanthus and will sow some more after the snow and also pot up the sungold tomato seeds.

What a nightmare to get some strawberry seeds! A cultivar called Rociera - the perfume was just incredible. So far, only managed 4 seeds.
