Winter is NOT on its way: Weathermen predict hottest October day for seven years this week with 77F heat due to arrive from the Canary Islands
  • Low pressure towards the west will 'drag in' warmer air from the south and heat up the country this week
  • A possible high of more than 75.5F this Wednesday would be Britain's hottest day in October since 2011
  • Today England and Wales have enjoyed fine and mostly sunny weather after a cold and misty start

No wonder so many flowers are still showing buds. They must know something which we don't. 25c is pure summer!

I usually pick sites over the border so they are used to bad weather here’s one I might order from http://himalayangardens.com/

Spill the beans a bit please. What are you going to buy please? I so want to buy something today - something to make cloud effect with. But having one more pot is one more pot to transport and moving houses can kill quite a lot of plants. That nomocharis is only £5. Another place asked for £8.50. Have a look now. Thank you.

Are you buying this

Shame they don't have erythronium. I've been going round and round and have found the same yellow ones. Very frustrating. At another gc, peony Athens and Oslo were reduced from £17.99 to half price! Oh, dear! Very dear!

I went back the the Welsh Farmyard nursery and was very happy to click on a single black hellebore and put it in the basket. Getting so carried away that I was horrified to see how quickly how many items I bagged. Was worried how much it would cost and was secretly blaming @Zenj for introducing me to this vice.. Thank heavens that they are closed for delivery too. i.e. I have to wait for another year to have a black single hellebore, AGAIN!

LOL! This morning and even just now, I wasn't myself. The whole night I was trying to watch Monty's Round the world in 80 gardens and I just fell asleep time and time again. I didn't sleep very well. Was looking for All Gold, but couldn't find it in B&Q. They had a Hominika Red on a standard reduced to £2. Nearly bought it, but the thought of one more plant to move put me off.

The weather is going to be fine. Yes, your grass seeds should be fine. 23c on Wednesday!

@Perki will be impressed I think....dug up a lot plants that had gone over and even some that still a little bit more to offer ( but looked tatty). It was very hard at first....but once I got going....

Still left some summer bedding in that has al lot of blooms....just can't bring myself to discard them yet, that would be too heartbreaking!!:(

Have a fab day everyone :)(y)
