Do I just chop the Echinacea down to base level please? These two are definitely past their best now :(

Thanks @alp:)

You've got gloriously gorgeous plants too!!!:)(y):)(y)
With regards to Cosmos I know exactly how you feel!!(y) That big tall white one that we have is now looking faded and tired and given it's size it's becoming a bit of an eyesore .......can't wait until it dies it's natural death!!!!:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO: Whimp that I am @Perki !!(y)

We've had a beautiful sunny day today. I washed our bedding and hung it out before leaving to go out this morning. Thankfully before getting into the car I suddenly heard crackling sounds from behind our hedge coming from the allotments .Discovered the biggest bonfire I had ever seen.....as hubs said later to my Dad ' it was the size of your house ' !!! Rushed back to rescue our laundry.......:rage: how I hate smoke smelling bedding!! Infact smoke smelling anything!!(y)
Hubs said he knew it was being built ( he often pops over there to have a chat with some allotment holders ) but he thought it was for Nov. 5th :ROFLMAO:

Had to give in and go back to the Drs , had tests done and I now have a 'raging infection ' .As the antibiotics they gave me a fortnight ago didn't do anything whatsoever I have now been put on a course of really strong ones for a week. So hoping this works , really fed up with feeling so low.

Came home to discover that my Aunt died this morning.:( I know she had reached a very good age and lived a full and interesting life , but still very sad:(

Well that was my day!! A bit of a mixed bag of events.

@MaryMary Never seen any of your plants here on my thread! What have you been up to lately?

I've put a few pictures here, you've just forgotten. I usually put my pictures in the "What's Looking Good" thread... it seems odd to post them in two different threads. :cautious:

As far as what I'm up to, here lately it seems like all I do is work. We had a big brouhaha at work and as a result, one person transferred to another store, and another decided to just quit showing up. It was awful timing; my assistant manager, (the one who started the brouhaha,) had vacation time about to expire, and the company has a "use it or lose it" policy.

So the one who stirred the :poop:, (oops,) the pot has 25 hours this week, while I have 57. My manager has hired two people, but I'll have 47 hours next week. The company frowns on overtime, so this doesn't happen often. I'll take it when I can get it.

 The thought of that 57 hour check gets me all starry-eyed! :greedy: :greedy: :joyful:

You can if you don't like the way they look, or if you want the seeds from them. If you leave them, the birds will eat the seeds this winter. (y)

Crumbs what a day you have had. It's so dangerous to have such a big bonfire near your house! Shocking! When I looked at houses and saw allotment, I just said NO to myself.

Drink plenty of water, @Upsy as they say it might help.

When we bought the house we had fields full of cows behind us , they use to poke their heads through the hedge :ROFLMAO:. When the farmer grew too old to continue diary farming the fields were sold to the council , who turned them into allotments:( We even tried to buy/ rent the land from them....but they wouldn't agree to it sadly:(

We now grow much taller hedging and thankfully we are higher up from the allotment, so from ground level we can't see anything , but can from a couple of upstair windows ( thankfully we don't use those rooms much (y))

I just console myself by thinking there could be worse things behind us......but bonfires:mad::mad::rage::rage:grrrrrrrrr!!!

Yes, very awful when you have clothes out on washing lines. You expect them to come in fresh and smell like perfume! Very difficult to find a piece of haven! Well, your garden is so nice - at least, it helps.
