Afternoon all , rain rain rain that all its done today. Been in the Gh and watered the the tomatoes, I keep forgetting to water them now I do it every year it like I am winding down like the garden. The Melons have had it the cold got to them and no fruit what so ever, they mustn't of been a self fertile variety like i thought they were, put the melon on the compost pile along with the cucamelon which I don't like so won't be growing them again.

Back lawn / mud patch today, the rain can't help cover this bald patch @alp :D

Oh, the whole lawn up! Whoa! You've been working hard. The toms and the flowers in the last pic are spectacular. By the way, @johnny canoe : Love to see your squash again!

Return to the last flower in which I'm very interested. Did you buy the seeds or the plant please? I'd love to try something so mysteriously sultry and dark! LOL!

Er, where is my Tartan????:cry::cry::cry:! Most of my dahlias are taking tentative steps and if they are flowering, they are all the same cultivars (hope I use the term correctly and nobody is going to go into a discourse and cult VAR! LOL!)

As for me, been out in Homebase A13 for nearly 3 hours. It was dreadful. The raised the prices to ridiculous dizzy heights. £13 a bag (20L or 15L) for grass seeds. £40 for a gh heater! I bought 3 tubs of paraffin at £3.20. which normally go for £7.98.

A lot of my back garden is laid to lawn and my lawn could be 2 or 3 times the size of yours. I just chucked some seeds and water them every day in the hope that the warmth and water spur the seeds on. Some are actually growing. I will not mow it until they are all fully rooted. Mine is hopeless, but as I want to move, I can rip the whole thing up ..

Yesterday's harvest. They are small and thick skinned or split skinned!

Really like these dahlias - good colours and shape and quite prolific

True they don't need to be, but the taste is more intense when roasted rather that boiled in water(y)

Agree! Roasting things in the oven intensifies the flavour! Foods look better as well. I think I will just juice it and watch my son suffers when he drinks it. Bought another packet of apples to soften the grimace! Oh, crumbs! There are rhubarbs to contend with, too!

The Rhodochiton in the last picture is a plant I bought, I grow 5 from seed early in the year, moved them into the GH and they kicked up a fussy and withered away.

I know - sometimes using seeds could be so frustrating! The seeds germinated and then couldn't soldier on. That's why if the plants are £2 a pop, I will buy them. They are so unique. I will go to Wyevale to have another look. All the seeds in wilko have disappeared!

Good morning to everyone! Woke up early because of the heat. It's very dark and coolish. Washing machine is on. Will go to Homebase to get blind for the bathroom.

Continue with the weeding if the air is OK and water the bald patches on the lawn. Juice the beetroots as well. @Perki When will your grapes be ready for consumption? They look very good from here.

Need to catch up with GW and Beechgrove. Saw Monty sowing seeds for Thalictrum Delavayi and wonder if @Zenj raised his from seeds. Monty said it would take 2 years to see it flower! I wonder where the seeds are on my plant and wonder if I can do the same! Two years to see it flower is actually not bad. Never in my mind has it occurred to me that it originated from China!

I saw that my erythroniums have got leaves. Very excited, might put some shingles on top to prevent slugs feasting on the flower. That's what happened last year!

Good morning to all again! Going to peel all these carrots and what not as I need to catch the 8.30am E7 watershed. I'm dreading the change to 7.30am when I have to grope in the dark and can't open the windows when foul airs invade.

Morning everyone :)

For some strange reason I'm not getting all the notifications , so missed some posts yesterday:(

Your grapes are looking good @Perki , both of our vines have suffered this year , hit badly by the snow. Only one has produced this year, and only a few bunches at that:( Good thing is that they are sweet and tasty though:)

Watched GW.....loved the various ginger plants!(y)
I wasn't so keen on the Dahlias, not sure why!! Think it must have been the variety he was growing:unsure:

You're son is in for a juice treat today then @alp:D(y) Saw the beetroot at Lidl yesterday looked good, I was tempted but then thought of you and knew I would be in the same situation....wondering what on earth to do with them!!:ROFLMAO:

Dad had a very low day yesterday.....so dreading this autumn/ winter for him:( We are going off to see him later, it's very sad to witness .He was tearful over the phone to me last night, he's missing his furry companions :(:(

Have a super day:)(y)
