Morning!

Limp...lifeless???..............they look absolutely stunning @alp (y)

I hope he has not watered them and I might ask for 4 for a tenner! Oh, dear! How I hate myself.. As Vishu said, "Hey, you're stealing them!" This is after one whole night's soaking or total submerging!

Off to do a spot of grocery shopping, haven't done any for a fortnight now. Ran out of milk a couple of days ago, not that it's a problem as we barely get through a pint a week anyway.

Such a shame seeing farmers having to pour their milk away because the tankers couldn't get to them to collect it:(

Hurrah! Time for action. I need to start worrying about if the propagator will be too hot if there is sunshine. SUNSHINE? A vocabulary all right.

Went out to do 2 hours solid edging work. Now waiting for lunch and rain. Tomorrow, we can sort out the back and start planting.

I need a warming trend NOW. I want to turn the heaters on in my GH and get my Pelargoniums out there, but I won't if we are have -15 or lower nights. My plant rack if full, and I need to plant the rest of my Petunia seeds and get them on a heat mat.

I was given all my next door neighbours cutting but they remain in their house. She fell and hit her head just before Christmas, bleeding between her scull and brain. After emergency surgery, she has remained in the hospital mostly paralyzed and on a feeding tube. He couldn't be alone so his children moved him out of the house last week into a seniors home. I do a walk through of their home every couple days to make sure nothing has happened in the house. Their son suggested I buy the house and rent out this one. I have a couple month to think on it before they list it, but I really don't take to change. That house would have to be totally renovated, otherwise it would be living in Ray and Sophie's house. Na, I think a developer will buy it and another monster duplex will go up.

You are a very talented there Upsy, I wish I had half the artistic gene.. maybe we all do as gardeners just in a different way I suppose.

Thank you Alp & Logan, the pulmonaria's have picked up a little (y) definitely panicked too soon. A few floppy daffs but nothing as bad as I first thought.

Very sorry to hear that Johnny, you are a good man for keeping an eye on the safety of their home, it really does remind us all how sudden life can change for the worse, a family friend who worked for us when we still had the business died two weeks ago, age 25 of a sudden brain haemorrhage - she was alone with her 16 month old baby but thankfully her parents had plans to visit her within the hour.

I think we all have to value our days and try not to sweat the small stuff, we are lucky to have our health after all.

@johnny canoe What a terrible accident! Absolute tragedy. An accident like this can be life changing. Feel so sorry for her. No point for you to stretch yourself to have another house. I am sure you get worried about what kind of neighbours you might get.

If you want warmth, best is to add some polystyrene boards to the base of pots and top up more of the insulation materials. It's just so costly to switch on a propagator. I haven't done so, but I did have the electric heater on for 3 nights, much to my son's discontent.

Shocking how life can be changed just like that. Mark, your friend was only 25. Hardly lived. I hope the parents will look after her baby.

Yes, that is it. I moan about my pain. But compared with others, I am very lucky. We should always count our blessings and be happy .. Life is too short ..

I agree whole heartedly Alp, a definite reminder.

The place opposite us has been developed, it was supposed to be finished 6 months ago but is still going.. they turned one decent sized plot with a lovely garden and orchard in to 3 properties. We campaigned against it but it was an inside job with the local councillors, quite worried about the lack of parking and it is always busy here with the school mums.. it use to be peace and quiet which is why I sometimes dream of a plot like Upsy's.

Don't forget, you haven't got people spewing toxic fumes and firing their air rifles in the middle of the night. I am always worried that these bullets one day will be genuine ones.

Upsy has M3 dust to contend with. Nightmare that people can split a tiny plot into tons of tiny stingy flats. One couple coming to view our house said the same horrible thing about tenants being very rough and that's why they wanted to move.

For money, people will do a lot of horrible things. Unless you live in Surrey where they safeguard their green land and it's not easy to sell to developers, we are all in the same awful boats.

As for council corruption, no need to go further

Council is slammed after selling land for just £13,900 on a millionaire's row close to celebrities Sir Paul McCartney and Ewan McGregor where houses have hit the market for £35MILLION
  • Westminster City Council has been criticised for selling land for just £13,900
  • Freehold on Verity House, which contains six flats, was bought by City banker
  • It is on a millionaire's row where houses are on the market for more than £10m
  • Council insists under enfranchisement laws it's legally obliged to sell freeholds

Morning all
Saturday the boiler broke down, tried to re-start set it but no good. It's still covered just got to get someone to fix it. Phone the plumbers who put it in first. Or get someone else. Got the gas fire and the old immersion heater for the hot water tank.
