Best turkey dish I have ever cooked was in Ludlow few years ago - turkey drum stick pull the skin back take the meat off the bone cut the bone off leaving the skin intact then sauté bacon sprouts carrots pots and brown turkey meat add sage stuffing then stuff the drum stick skin with the mix then tie the end in the oven for an hour so you end up with a crispy drum stick full Xmas dinner was nice :)

But you really have to marinate them. Unlike lamb or beef (with marble), it's just most very bland meat, especially the breast bit!

I love anything cooked with pancetta, not lardon!

@Leeski re: turkey: Great minds think alike!

Did you carry your pump sprayer around. I paid £6 for mine! It was great fun, but it's always blocked.
Strapped it to my back loved it don’t have to move plants around to water them and can get water straight to the roots rather than soaked leafs :) got mine off freegle :)

Whoa! You're so lucky! Glad that I have introduced it here! Yes, the water is not spewing anywhere else. Quite a big one. But it's neat and clean! Well done! Good freebie!

I have 2 or 3 cats using my garden as it enjoys 13 hours of sunshine and the sun just they just sun themselves in their favorite spots. They hiss at one another as if they owned my garden. Very rude and brazen users!

I think it's the occasional fox poohs that really annoys me as they stink very badly. The walkway outside my front lawn is constantly used as a toilet by dogs. One day, I thought someone had washed his car . such is the amount of liquid left on the ground:eek:. But it's not my land!

Morning all!
Lovely start to the day down here, sun is shining, not cold at all here either.
They have Xmas cards in the shops here by mid August! Not keen on the long extended hyped run up to it at all.

We do stick with tradition and eat Turkey, but only buy the drumsticks......they are moist compared to the rest of the dry old bird. Nobody likes the dry white breast meat anyway so no point buying the whole bird. Hate having left over meat the next day....like to use it up on the day its cooked. We just add lots of garlic and wrap it up in foil no extra fat is needed with drumsticks ,then open it up to brown for the last 10mins.The drumsticks are so huge that we only need a couple.

Wow love your sprayer @Leeski .

Wouldn't believe this but it's taken me almost an hour to write this reply!!!! At least my notifications are back working.....then hubs cooked breakfast.....then spent 20 mins chatting to my Dad on the phone !!! The day will soon be over before it's begun at this rate!!!

Have a great day!.....and finally.....Post Reply!!!:LOL::ROFLMAO:

We usually have chicken for Christmas and son goes to his dad who cooks turkey, invariably!

Yes, off to catch up with Beechgrove!

Is it council land, if so you should report it. It's an offence to let dogs foul areas. There's signs everywhere around here and they will get fined £1000, if cought that is. It's inproved a lot now there are doggy bins around. But when thrrt wasn't we used to take ours home and put it in our bin. The bags that we use are nappy sacks, so much cheaper than the proper ones.:)

:LOL: i thought that i would make up for this morning:DYes thanks keith is doing well.
I didn't watch that part of gw, but when i was fast forwarding i did see how she rooted the pineapple.Only interested in what monty does and see nigel and nelly, but didn't see a lot of them this week. But monty let nell hold the basket for him. Last week's i did watch carol about the monarda/ bergamot/ beebalm, looked very nice.

When i was watering the polyanthus i was playing my iPod with headphones and singing along with what i was playing.

Don't seem to be getting any more rain for at least another week or so.

Yes Christmas things are starting to come in the shops, some people start early.
I know someone started in february.;);)
....I do like dogs, but much prefer to fill the time with gardening topics, after all the clue to the programme is in it's title!(y)There is a time and place for everything...
That basket that he used after allowing the dog to carry it must have been covered in slobber!

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying....dogs /animals are great..but in their own programmes.....and there are plenty of them !!:)(y)

Our lane is used by dog walkers, as there is no through traffic and it leads to the woods/lakes. Most do clear up , but plenty don't! They stand outside chatting away about everything to do with their dogs, while purposely ignoring the fact that their dogs are fouling outside our gate:eek:!! I go out and that usually does the trick.....we have even had 'doggy do' bags dumped in our bins!!:muted::rage:
