...forgot to add, he always washes it through several times before cooking it

Apparently, rice is so full of arsenic that even watching it several times won't help. After reading that, I switched to potatoes, only stopped on the track when half of the potatoes had black rings in them and some even had holes. Quite a shock..

Soak your rice overnight – this opens up the grain and allows the arsenic to escape. Drain the rice and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. For every part riceadd 5 parts water and cook until the rice is tender – do not allow it to boil dry.8 Feb 2017

But beware as 5 parts of water will turn the rice to gruel!

It's better to buy easy cook rice, it's been half cooked and not so much arsenic. Saw a programme about it and that's what they said.:)
Don't use it much, i prefer potatoes from Sainsbury's. Ever since hubby had to do the cooking when i fractured my knee, he buys the washed ones.:)

Still waiting for the delivery. Don't think we're going out. Been out re-arranging the front lawn so that the eryngiums won't stick out so much next time the flowers. Of course, I hope I won't be here!

Will reduce it by a foot. Hopefully, the newly planted irises will still flower next year! Fed up with buying iris rhizomes online as they are always shrivelled and it took nearly 3 years for them to flower. When they do flower, they are all Indian Chiefs. Won't buy from Wilko either or Taylor bulbs either.

Can't you track the van? Sometimes it's possible.
Have you had anyone come to view your house yet?

Irises are tricky ones to grow, it's best to see them before you buy.

Son is going to make his. Knitting needles!:LOL:

What temperature are you going to use and how long please? Not a fan of tandoori chicken though. What I really want is the extra tasty one as sold in shops.

I was stupid enough to have bought a gas oven and my food was always burnt. I exchanged my fan assisted to one with a lid which would shut the gas supply when closed. The more fool I was!

Did you see how much I have spent today, @Upsy Daisy ?? £11 for 22 packets of seeds. After that, KFC had to be cancelled.

Must admit that I wouldn't swap my fan assisted oven for any other type.(y):)

I know. It makes a lot of difference. I was so stupid. We used to have an electric oven but it was so old that I bought a new one.

Going to watch Bodyguard now. It's OK!
