Afternoon hope all well and warm, that wind bitter cold. Cloudy day so far, excepting snow showers later. It looks like the snow melted a bit but I am not sure its been blown away, I can see grass on the hill opposite a good amount of snow still on my lawn.

It was so windy last night letter box banging away all night, wheely bin blowing around and just the sheer roar of the wind keeping me on edge with the GH potentially getting damaged.

Bit early for sowing cosmos Alp, you'll have to keep pinching the tips out to keep them from getting leggy and you'll get more flowers.

I got a space in the front flower bed where I moved a hydrangea, I been thinking for months what to replace it with. I just noticed the choyisa aztec pearl in the back garden which I been meaning to find a new home for, it to wet and the soil very heavy / clay there, its been sulking for a bit. Strange how I couldn't think of a plant to get when the one what will suit it perfectly was right in front of me :) save some pennys and I love rubbing the leaves for the scent.

I will do that, Perki! Last year, I was gifted the seeds which germinated but when I planted them outside, they all perished. I should have waited. But I am worried that such inclement weather might lead to inertia and a blink of an eye, no time to sow anything.

It's very cold. We didn't hear any wind though. Thank heavens. Winds can be very frightening. My strict instruction to son is not to leave another one of the garage doors open or the roof might fly off during a windy day. You lie in bed, and you dread that part of the roof might be damaged. Once that happened to me, the roofer asked for £300, knowing that it was an insurance job. No laughing matter.

I bought another choisya this year and have really looked after it well, seeing how pretty Sheal's one is. I will leave this here, together with a mock orange, of which I killed one years ago. I know I just don't make sense. I am not keen on wallflowers, but two appeared a month ago. Whether they are here on Sunday is anybody's guess.

I wonder what casualties I will have after this beast from the east! SOL!

Snowing good right now. My little sparrows picking seeds I just tossed into my blue spruce.

This white breasted nuthatch is a strange one. It calls me from the tree trunk and then it has to peck at my thumb nail a few times before selecting the seed it wants. Does it every time.lol

Could you take a video of that please? So cute. I am amazed you could take a photo like this. Would love to hear and see it on video, @johnny canoe ! That's a stunning moment captured.

It's so cold that I can't even see the goldfinches. Funny thing is that I actually found out where the wagtails had their base. Two evening ago, I was up to the shop and suddenly there were initially about 8 wagtails flying in and out of a conifer which was cut into about 13 feet and there they had their nest there. There were so many of them. I saw them for about 3 years now, but I never knew where they nested. It's just so charming to see them living so near.

Johnny, you might need to make these trips more often as they need the energy. Tomorrow, I will put out some more fatballs.

I'll try and take the video of that bird pecking at my thumb nail. lol
I'm out feeding my friends along the river everyday I don't have to shovel snow. I've spoiled them, so not to worry, they are still wild and know how to feed themselves without help. Now the sparrows in my blue spruce will just stay put and wait for me to come feed them, very spoiled and now entitled. They scold me when I'm late with their breakfast, little beggars.

It's snowing here too, not like the first time, it's staying where it is. I'm not doing my Cosmos and pot marigolds until the end of march, plenty of time to do them. Might not be able to get to the supermarkets tomorrow. I've got some flour and yeast to make some bread might have to make a loaf.

Like your family photo. In between Bracken and Logan, which one was your favorite?

Thanks Willow was my favourite, he's lying down willow on the right, bracken on the left. But logan was the one who followed me around. I always thought moss was my hubby's dog and i didn't think much of him, until he had his operation to remove a growth in his lower jaw bone. Had to have the front bit of jaw bone removed. The operation took a lot of time. Kept all the skin from the jaw and tucked it in from both sides to shape it to look like a jaw. That's why his tongue hangs out. He was 5 years and went on to 13.

Touching stories and so much love from you to them and them to you. I don't think I want to scoop the poo in public area and the vet bills can be shocking. But we will see. I might get one which looks like Mark56's when I can afford it.

Thanks It's best to get pet insurance with Petplan life policy. That means you can claim for the same thing again after the policy has been renewed.
What's not covered is the yearly booster and if you only have their teeth cleaned. Bracken had to have a tooth out,the vet cleaned his teeth as well, but it was in with the price.
