Alp, these rain lilies are for you (the color of the fall lilies looks more yellow than they are in reality)--and I threw in a native ruellia because they are blooming all over the yard and barn lot now. The yellow in bloom now you've already seen in my previous post. Thank you for your interest!View attachment 42908 View attachment 42909 View attachment 42910

I love that yellow. Wow! So sassy and zesty, @marlingardener ! It's a mood lifter! I'd love to see it in real life. Have you or the previous owner put them down and they flower after rain or it is something indigenous to the area? Nice to see them as they are so cheerful:D. Thank you for sharing and I am sure we all love your photos. Such nice close ups!:D

@Perki your dahlias make me smile. The first one is like a young punk .. a red head with attitude!

I have lots of names, but NO flowers. Masses of elaves, no flowers .. Heartbreaking. All the flowers and fruits have come together very nicely in your garden. Can you eat the grapes? Are they sweet? So romantic to see grapes in a greenhouse.

I should have Tartan somewhere... LOL!

Thank you for uploading your joy and treasure.. Really have cheered me up, just as @marlingardener 's zesty yellow! So nice to have you lot on the thread! :D;)

Impressive alp I have dahlia edge of joy as well , I am not surprised I forgot about it very disappointed. Mum got Caribbean fantasy nice dahlia.

Sometimes, I wonder if they are the same. But they don't seem to be. One is outside in the front lawn. I have Picasso out there. I never water it. But it comes back every year. I have 3 big clumps of green leaves .. Ashamed to come clean.

I have to lift all mine / store and repot in spring. Its quite a job and it gets busier every year, dahlia tubers fall off the racks into my basket when I walk past them :sneaky:

Yes, some dahlias are magnet for them. I have one in a pot and every morning I watered it when it was flaming July, there are always slugs in that pot whilst some next to them are perfectly happy. I have a lot of slug damage to my new dahlia flowers. Whenever I see holes in new petals in dahlias, i think about @Zenj 's nematodes. But it's so costly.

I moved my wisteria out. It displayed tons of bubbles like growth, probably because my garden is so hot. I watered it for 3 to 5 minutes every morning in the hot weather, but when I turned the pot inside out, I've found out that the soil was bone dry and they crumbled into fine bits. I said sorry to my wisteria and felt like a very rotten mother! Now the whole pot is submerged into a bit tub of water for the night. And I will do that once a month! Also, I have moved it out of that area.

The grapes ( black Hamburg ) are edible but some have 4 pips so I don't bother eating many. nearly all go in the compost bin

Perki, I agree with your assessment of the tomato varieties. I planted Sweet Million for the first time this year--not impressed with the yield nor the taste and won't waste the space again next year.
Sungold has done well for us, even during this difficult year of drought.
We always plant Celebrities for slicing/eating fresh tomatoes, and Romas for making marinara sauce or canning.
Gardening is such a "feeling your way through the dark" exercise!
