Oh, dear! That's a bit of a nightmare! A lot of money. You could almost buy a new 2nd hand manual! Feel so sorry for you. What a setback! I hate having car serviced as garages are so dishonest.

I had 2 brand new Good year wheels put in. Halford said my front brake discs and bake padsneeded replacing and that would be £198 and Glenn Hopkins said I didn't need to have the front disc replaced. But the brake pads replacement will cost me £135. Halford said if we had the discs replaced, we could have the next discs replacement free. In the end, we went to somewhere else. The man said that we didn't need to replace the disc at all as it could easily do 35k miles. Do you trust the garage doing your MOT, Leeski?

Oh no leeski, anything with wheels seems to cost a fortune. A well know garage kwik fit ? tried the same stunt with my mum alp, she got all upset about not be able to afford it , them saying its needs doing / not road worthy etc. They did put the wheel back on eventually and she went home after asking multiple times, I had a look my self and they was nothing wrong with them.

@Leeski It seems to me your Mac is playing up too! Oh, dear! I shouldn't have laughed. See if you know somebody in the know. Garages are full of con artists. One man quoted us £48 and in the end, said he did so much more and ask my son who looked like a 15 year old boy £65. i should have stood firm and said he quoted £48 and should not have done £65's worth of work without telling my son first. I told him my son had only got £60 and he accepted it quickly. Just con man. But if we had done it on the spot with another Halford, it would have been £75 for the same boot wiring problem. This problem is very common amongst Nissans!

Sorry to hear about your day @Leeski :(, Hubs deals with our car so can't add anything helpful as I don't really have the foggiest idea of what your talking about when it comes down to car parts. It does sound pretty drastic though so you have my commisserations :(

Alp, the rain lilies are natives, and just "happen." When I drive into town the side of the road and many lawns have rain lilies poking up. One doesn't have to plant them--they just come up, spread, and bloom on their own.

You're lucky to have such a phenomenon!

Getting very cold now and i wonder what will the dip in temperatures do to my plants. Cleared a lot of excess leaves off the tomatoes and hopefully, it rains tomorrow and give my plants a good drenching. They need it.

Good morning to all! That's the trouble with British weather! I so feel for you, @Perki ! Have you been to the reservoir to see if the water level is healthy?

Shame all the rivers start west of the country and we really need a lot of rain. I am worried that the cool weather will split my toms. We are talking quite a terrifying drop of temperature. We are currently 18c and overcast. Going to mow the lawn.

Just mown the lawn and it's so humid. Just had to splash water onto the face and I am sweating at 19c.

@Upsy Daisy Did you buy anything interesting yesterday in town? Trimmed a lot of toms leaves as it was like a jungle. After the rain, I need to tackle the hellebores, separating them and what nots.
