Glad you're nice and warm @logan(y)
We are too , just don't like wasting energy and money!;)
We heat the rooms we use, the other 5 bedrooms , summer lounge and office we don't bother with unless we need to, as we don't use them in the winter.....well maybe the office a bit:)

That's why I never want a big house. I often ask myself, "How am I going to heat the place?" But Upsy, you have a big family, so needs must be.

When the sun is out, the house is very warm and there is no need to heat the two front bedrooms. In summer, we literally have to draw the curtains during day time as the heat is simply unbearable.

I am worried that the spring or summer is a write off! This kind of weather is very frustrating to a person who wants to grow stuff from seeds..

Thanks (y)5 bedrooms? That's a lot.:)We keep the doors in the spare bedrooms open, so we don't get a draft when we open the doors. Have to go in there because we got 2 chest freezers in them.:)

-3 out there at 4pm this afternoon, just got out the shower and realised I've got chilblains  not again, I haven't had them for a few years.. especially since learning the hard way as a child sitting in front of the fire after being in the freezing cold. A reminder to wrap up warm folks, feet included!

I hope you're OK, @Mark56 ! Wear a scarf, woolly socks and a hot cuppa for warming the fingers. It was so bright and I woke up with a start, thinking it must be 7am. Turned out to be 6.20am. Drew the curtains open and saw a layer of 3-inch snow on one of the roof tops opposite. Horrified, Drew the curtains closed again. I have another curtain inside these four curtains and friends kept saying there was no light in my house!

Last night, I had the same tightness in my chest for half an hour, took 2 aspirins and an hour in bed, I felt liquid filling up my mouth. Had to get up and spit it out in the toilet bowl. Hope it's not a heart attack. Suddenly wondering if this was punishment from above as I felt guilty saying I was happy after mentioning neighbour's passing. I should have said I was happy because of some other things going on well in my boring life. She had had a terrible life as she had been in bed for more than 10 years. Lucky her hubby kept her bedroom toasty warm and got her a massaging bed. But still, that wouldn't be the life any of us want. So folks, look after yourselves so that we don't diminish the quality of our lives.

Must bring in my standard variegated ivy. Going to have a cup of tea now.

@alp sorry that you didn't feel well. I don't think it was a heart attack, women get it different from men. It could be indegestion, but i don't know about the liquid in your mouth. Unless it was the water that you took with the aspirin, just came back up. Sometimes when i've eaten and I belch, i get some of the food come back up.:)

I certainly don't want it to be a heart attack. It could be that water. I had great trouble swallowing those two tablets and took 6 attempts in between gulps of water. Funny thing was that I don't think I had eaten anything differently before the pain.

It could be the water, why don't you try soluble tablets? You could have strained yourself. I can't take a lot of brands of pain killers, they give me heartburn. I can take a few lbuprofen.

Morning all

@alp, please get your son to take you for a check up....since 1990 I have done 9 First Aid courses, and it doesn't matter if you're male or female the warnings of a heart attack come in many different guises.....so be safe and check it out. Many years ago I had chest pains and I was rushed straight through A&E and put on monitors, thankfully all was OK. Best to be safe than sorry @alp (y)

Yes, Ma'am! LOL!

Heartburn itself can accompany other symptoms of heart attack. Typical heartattack signs and symptoms include: Pressure, tightness, pain, or a squeezing oraching sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck, jaw or back. Nausea, indigestion, heartburn or abdominal pain.7 Jun 2017
