Oh eck alp shame about the salvia. I the bees / butterflys love the eupatorium but mine is half the size this year, I moved it this spring but still would of expected it to get bigger, its about 4ft now last year it was more like 8ft.

@Perki must look out for this beast! Look at the bees...:D

Morning all :)
My fav time of the wk watching lasts nights G W with a bacon butty and a pot of tea :):)

Who mentioned bacon!? Just love a bacon, especially with crispy golden edges and moist meat .. I'm actually enjoying a cup of tea now. Nothing beats starting the day with a cup of strong tea!

It's so bright this morning that it's blinding! A bit over the top! Need to put all the plants back into my lean to. Leave them outside to have a soak and hopefully get rid of the critters sucking the soul out of their tender new shoots, especially the pepperdew chillies!

Morning all, yes @alp had a thunderstorm at 3pm and heavy rain at 4pm yesterday. Just missed the storm from walking the boys.

@Upsy Daisy that's very kind of the vet to pop in on your dad.

It's like a autumn morning, very cold and grass is frosty in places.

Have a good day all.:)

It's so good for you as it's never too dry for you up in R! Here in Essex, it's dry, hot, drought, heat and oven baking!

@Logan Haven't seen your harvest of blackcurrants? I have a bit of red gooseberries. The best I have ever had for gooseberries. How do you make sure that they are big? I'm not a serious fruit grower. In fact, I am not a serious flowers either; but I love the flavour or Hinnomaki red and would like to make a success of it. Got any ideas?

Lovely and bright here rain forecast later so will get my jobs done this morn
Was cold last night dropped to 7c seedlings were not happy they were sulking

Extremes are never very good for seedlings, but if they are indoors, they should be OK. A bit of shock to our system, not to say to seedlings. Lovely weather ahead of us - all dry until at night. Hope all my wood chips are now wet and they will help lower the temperature of my whole garden. What are those jobs, Leeski?

School groundsman, 46, with weeks to live, is awarded $289M by jury that found weedkiller Roundup DID give him lymphoma - and says cash will support his wife, who works two jobs, and children when he dies
  • Dewayne Johnson, 46, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2014
  • Worked a school groundskeeper in California and sprayed Roundup every day
  • Ingredient glyphosate listed by the World Health Organization as cancerous
  • Monsanto said it will appeal the verdict and studies prove their product is safe
  • Could open the door to hundreds of additional lawsuits against the company
  • Johnson, who may have just weeks to live, won't get money until appeal finished
  • May use money to help wife who works two jobs for 14 hours a day, lawyer said
  • Lawyers want court to speed up appeal to money will be available before death

If you have Roundup, be careful. GM, Monsanto and glyphosate! Hopefully, with the advent of scientific research and technology, people like him will be less exposed to hazards.

I love pak choi. I need to sow some now that the rain is coming. I have 2 planters one taken up by tomatoes :sleep::sleep: and another fennel which can't be harvested. I the bulbs are too small, but I will keep the seeds. They smell divine. I love buying fennel bulb from stores as I love the aniseed flavour, but I just don't have the heat or know-how to make them big .. I did earth them. Hopefully, I will have some sweet corns - tussles are showing.

You can plonk your banana skin into a milk bottle to make high potash feed. No need to buy. I would love to buy some comfrey. This man down the road his his stinging nettles growing right in front of his concrete lawn!:eek: I buy bananas nearly every other week just for that purpose. Don't like it much, but son needs it. I need to get some horse manure soon. Wilko should be having clearing season soon and a trip to B&M or HBargains could be beneficial. Last year son got 4 bottles of Tomorite for £1 each!

Oh no Alp I’m so sorry, it is a terrible feeling walking out to the garden to find such disappointment in one big heap! Just like my Agastache 2 weeks ago and Upsy’s poor shrubs. On the positive, hopefully you will get plenty of free plants as cuttings. We are due more rain this weekend, are you? Might be best to stake stake stake!

I went to the posh nursery and saw your Agastache which didn't look half as lovely as yours. I was a bit disappointed with their display. I will keep an eye out and go out tomorrow. Today is a bucket / container hunting day!

Definitely an autumnal nip in the air in the evenings and early mornings now:cold:

Have a fab day:happy:

I don't agree, it has been dry here. It's the 2nd lot of rain for about 3 months.:)

Got bare patches in the lawn/ grass where it hasn't recovered. In a couple of days we'll probably be out watering again.:(
