Morning all, yesterday made some more jam and picked more redcurrants. Today I'll be able to pick the blackberries

Last night was watching youTube with hubby, there's a dog rescue place in Romania and they were showing the dogs that they rescued and needed to be adopted.

They showed how they were when they were rescued and after.
Dogs had been picked up off the streets and put in a dog poud, just to starve to death.

One dog was roaming the railway about 9years old, it couldn't see out of one eye. They found a micro chip and went to the owner, he didn't want her back. He said that that she ran away and he didn't bother finding her.

A 3 month old German shepherd left in a woodland.

Now if i could, but i won't I'd have him.:)

Fab pics @alp.....your direct sown zinnias have done well, I think you did yours after me..not even a bud on mine yet!

Some are before and the one at the back is the same time. It has shown any buds either but is near. I will sow some at the front as it is always baking there and they like it. You have red tomatoes and I have flowers apart from that truss! Reversal of fortunes!

I have only one butt full. Now I know why I don't have much water - I have directed some of the roofline gutter rain water to the front in 2 places as the front is even HOTTER! But still, not a lot of water. About 2 and a half butts worth. I'm going to fill up all sorts of ridiculous containers (we know how desperate we were, don't we?) and clear the big butts once it starts raining later. Won't do it earlier as the Met Office misses all the times!

Just the person I want to ask: Ex has given me some cooking apples. Please supply recipes and if @Leeski has recipes for any cooking apples, I'd like some please. Thank you very much in advance.

It's sad that people fall in and out of love with their pets. Dogs can be such useful, loving and loyal companions.

Yes it is.

I let them ripen before i use them. I cook mine and freeze them, then i add a bit to what ever i want.

I don't use sugar when cooking, use honey. Gives a much better flavour and cook them in the microwave one at a time. Depends on the size of the apple. Only cook them until they're a bit soft, but not mushy because they keep on cooking after.
I hope that will help.:)

Thunderstorms? Must be awful for you to sleep! Shame when you have all the scare and not much rain. Yes, I have blueberries .. but mostly a bit unripe.
