@Upsy Daisy Your colour palette is brilliant purple and blue. Are they your favorite colours? The sun is now out and rain officially over for the day. And I have been freezing and sleepy as I couldn't work out some codes.

@Leeski The 2nd one is Aster. A very showy flower and they are worth raising from seeds. Annuals! I only want perennials. Too lazy to buy new seeds and make a mess of the stuff. But @Upsy Daisy 's Aster is fantastic. The purple Canterbury Bells are beautiful too, but the stem had vicious prickly hair/thorns like stuff which put me off. I had a lovely one growing at the wrong place, but the flowers were spectacular until the freaky British weather toppled it and I gave it a yank  - that killed it!

Very nice. Nothing's wrong with your photography skill, @Upsy Daisy ! All very well done! Mine are still in flowers ..
Thanks...with flowers I like most colours but change the dominant shade from year to year, another reason I like to add a fair number of annuals each year....I get bored easily and like change. I seldom buy seeds just collect the seeds and store them ( from anywhere;))

I remember the name because it it's a new one to me, first year I've grown them....by next year I will have forgotten it:LOL:

Very good name as it fits the colour perfectly. The only annuals will be zinnias as they like it hot and I have no money to water them. I collected the hibiscus trionum seeds for sale. Didn't sell one and this year, I don't even have one flower. I must dig them out and sow them as they are quick to flower and are strikingly simple and perfect.

How are your hand sown zinnias doing @alp , mine are about 6/8 inches tall now but no buds showing yet. If all goes well I might do it again next year too, but I will continue to sow some earlier in trays still ,hopefully I will get an extended blooming period by doing that:)(y)

Possible rain tomorrow and thunder (allegedly), a night time low of 7c, the plants won’t know what’s hit them, nor will I. Corrrr, blimey! o_O

You can sow direct in the hottest and sunniest spots today. A bit of rain on warm earth will give them a gooooood send-off and who knows what the summer will be like. I might do so if I had room. But every hole is gifted with expectancy! LOL! I might do it in the front. They like it hot and moist and you know so well how long the flowers will stay on. I have 2 very good flowers and I expect the flowers to stay on for 1 month at least.

Not 7c I hope. This is the horrible thing. Extreme and prolonged cold killed my pink gaura at the front. £1 of white gaura from poundshop just came back to life. I thought it was dead and when this traggly thing came up, I thought it was my Asclepias tuberosa. The red one had 2 flowers and is now sulking in a 5L tub. My tomatoes were in a 40c greenhouse and are now freezing and wet on concrete ground. Like you, @Mark56 , I feel very sorry for our little treasures.

Morning @alp and all who drop by :)
Bit of a nip in the air, a shock to the system....will be looking for my thermals soon!

Wishful thinking maybe but...we are suppose to have light showers from 8am to 6pm today, I will wait with anticipation:LOL::LOL:.

No garden duties today, housework and laundry day over at my Dad's.So will leave some extra containers out to catch the drips :)(y)

Hope everyone has a good day and that those in need get some welcomed rain.(y)
