It will reach 33 today and 36 for Fri. Heavy smoke from the forest fires in the mountains have blanketed the city the past couple days.

Thank heavens you can retire to the basement. I sometimes feel like borrowing neighbour's lawn to sleep in when the air hurts. Any thunderstorm due soon to cleanse the air? When I looked at the weather map before yesterday, it was terrifying experience as it was red and hot..

We might have rain this weekend. The smoke is so thick right now my throat is sore. But I have a gardening job to do for a customer of mine today, will start in a hour before it really heats up, it's only 6:30am right now.
Yes I am thankful that there is a bedroom and a computer in my basement on these hot days and nights of summer.
I would sleep outside on my lawn but the little mosquitos are really bad right now. lol

We have different sorts of nightmares. I wouldn't want to have yours. I bet a lot of people with health problems must be complaining. You probably need a mask, but it was highly uncomfortably wearing one. At one point, I was wearing one and it was just so uncomfortably hot inside the face mask.

Don't talk about mosquitoes with me. You know I'm a mossie magnet. I sprayed and missed, so I sprayed on the palm on smeared everywhere. Apparently, the mossies were super-intelligent and stung me in between the black gloves and the rest of the unprotected arm and where it was softest. Another one was even nastier - stung me at the end of flashy palm next to the wrist! I raised my white flag!

I don’t mean to gloat but highly delighted with the 2 and a half hours steady rain, I can feel the ground and wildlife breathe a sigh of relief! It seems like our Northern friends have had the opposite weather, full sun! We’ve swapped!

Yes! Nice that @Zenj has had a sunny day!:D:D The biggest relief is from me, you, and Upsy Daisy. It's no laughing matter. Here in Essex, it's like scorched earth policy. But compareed with @johnny canoe 's foul air, I think I can live with my problem. Just spend money watering and eat less! No more roasted dinners!;)

I need to do some of these power walks. Do you walk fast?

I'm swooning over the last bird. What's it called? How come I miss all the fun? I have invested enough, I think?! Ah, I blame the heat!

As @Mark56 said, lovely blue sky for our northern friends. Herons are lovely birds though you have to keep an eye on them if you have fish! Just went out to fill up two feeders with sunflower seeds..
