I was horrified to read that Roundup is sprayed on wheat just before harvesting to speed up the process and the horrible chemical stays in the foodchain straight to our plate, especially with wholemeal flour. Nothing is safe these days.

Hope your limbs recover soon, @Logan . This morning, I could hardly put my right foot on the ground. After several attempts, it eased off. Beware as we get older! I used to have a plasma which was expensive to run and gave out heat a lot. Now the LG is very good and economical to run. Very pleased with it. I know I am useless, watched Pride and Prejudice AGAIN. The first few episodes are delightful.

Got some unexpected harvest

I bet @Logan will laugh at my abysmal harvest

I bet @Logan has tons of these beans. Note the 2 big beans! LOL! Harvest?? Where?

Thanks @alp yes they'll take a few days to get to normal.:)glad that yours went off after a while.:)

The tv that we just gave to his sister is a plasma. It's 10 years old and it was the best thing at the time. :)But it has to be kept up right in transit because of the plasma coming out. So she's packed a lot of things around it, to take it back to Paynton.

Yes everything gets sprayed these days, unless you want organic.

@Upsy Daisy yes i remember you saying that you're semi veggie.:) I sometimes don't eat meat, when hubby has sausage casserole with good sausages on a Thursday.:) My brother is a full veggie ever since he was 16 years old. He didn't like the way animals were being slaughtered.:)

@alp your harvest looks great.:) I've got a few beans that are ready.:)

I would rather go back to being a fully veggie, but unless I go back to simply removing a portion of whatever before the dead animal is added...it would be a case of two menus. Although it's not really veggie ,nowadays I often just discard the chunks of meat. Having said that I don't mind chicken(y)

My younger sis is a full veggie, but she lives on her own and only has herself to cook for....easy peasy!!:)(y)

My plasma was a Panny and was nearly £600 at the time from M&S. Still working. I prefer the Japanese makes, probably not Sony though. Yes, it was an almighty heavy thing, but my ex is a good driver. He could come up with tons of plates dumped together and not a crack in any of them. I have had several cracked just loading the dishwasher.

Veggie is alright if you live on your own. Being from another side of the world, we eat everything that moves. If the table moved, we would eat it. There goes this joke that attests to our carnivore palette!:LOL: We even had snake soups when we were young. Just the sight of it makes me sick. But I was very young then. I wouldn't say to to a piece of sirlion, beautifully lined with marbled fat! Wish the dinner were sirloin steaks now. Unfortunately, it will be Nando.

Went out and discovered tons of very dry pots. Think of chucking the contents. Then I saw Golden Yellow Peony and I went OoOOOps! Still saw the seeds, now the pot buried with the clematis pot so that I can water the two together. Turned another one upside and saw the label Erythronium Pagoda ... Oooops! Seeds couldn't be found and I just picked up all the dirt and put it back with the label and put in next to the one with tuber for the erythronium which flowered as in the avatar.. more tears to come as this dry heat, compounded by the factory heat, has seared a lot of plants, seeds and seedlings. Such a terrible year! Well, I need to blame something! LOL!

They are very handsome chaps @Logan, OH wants a goldie one day. Barney would love it but I don’t think we could handle two at the mo

Wonderful shot @alp, the blackbird does look scruffy but that’s totally normal, the birds tend to disappear in August for the annual ‘malt’ where they lose their old feathers - usually look quite manky and need water to wash in. :)

@Mark56 It might be a good idea just to stick to the lovely Barney! This morning, I couldn't even rest my right leg on the floor. Did a bit of stretching i.e. straighten the leg and relax and alternate for a few times and rolling the sole on a rolling pin. It was OK. In the afternoon, I went out to trim the hedge so that my hellebores could be more exposed to the rain; the same thing happened again. It was terrifying as it just locked in and a slight twist gave me a bit of sharp pain. Came in, do the same exercises and put the support on the knee. It has been OK since.

The Nando meal was sooooooooooo expensive. We had 2 free quarter chickens and even that we paid below £35! Wonder if @Leeski can give me a Nando recipe! Handy to have a chef on board!:D;)

I think I know how the bird felt this morning and I am "pregnant" with food! It was rather enjoyable, and I was amazed at how busy it was!

Wish it were 9am now! Can't wait for the rain to come. My gardens need a good soaking and drenching. Today is the only day I don't have to go out and sort the things out.

Good morning to all - @Logan - you're so lucky to have had a good soaking alreasdy and I hope we all get some today.
