Wow! Stunning photos and beautiful and prolific flowers. Such a lot of flowers on the phloxes. I must buy some epsom salt from E!

@Zenj TONIC for a hot day! :D Don't think you know what hot means:eek:, just as you don't know what are water butts for. Talking about water butts. We are supposed to have RAIN!

I have several phloxes going, but not a flower. One aster with no flowers, one aster with one flower! Astilbes no flowers! I have to blame the heat.:LOL:

In one of the recent episodes of GW, I saw Monty mention lily bugs. I think my double lilies had succumbed to it. They were open half way and I could enjoy the perfume. After the holiday, the flowers failed to open. I had to behead the flowers. I think I will have 2 more lilies and that's my luck for this horrible year.

I lost my keys this morning and son nagged at me no end. Then I lost my glasses and couldn't watch Pride and Prejudice on my TV as the old pair of glasses turned everything into a blur! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! I blame the heat! LOL!

Me being cheeky! Have you been brainwashed by your hubby!?? LOL!:ROFLMAO:
Yes you are cheeky.:ROFLMAO: No i haven't. But looking at the grey around my face and the rest 50/50 i thought I'd better keep doing it. Maybe until I'm 70.:D which is 9years from now.
I've coloured my hair since i was about 35, when I started going grey.

It's supposed to get cooler after tomorrow, can't wait.:)

Yes, it will be cooler! Can't wait. Can't even go out in the garden as it is being baked!

Incidentally, @marlingardener If you have iplayer, please watch Gardeners' World as they were talking about roses. You probably know more than them. I do know a bit more now - never really like roses, but very lately. Yesterday, trying to wait for the lady to reduce David Austin's roses. By a slip of tongue, I said Jane Austen. Hilarious and she noticed it. She reduced a Knautia from £3 to £1 for me. Bet the bees will be very pleased.

Unfortunately, David Austin's roses are often priced £10 even reduced. Wonder if @Perki can throw me some names. Criteria - very fragrant, floribunda - single or double and prolonged flowered. Hehe! I don't want a lot. I blame my greed on the heat! LOL!

View attachment 42343 View attachment 42344 My agapanthus is driving me mad it looks like a rhino sat in the middle of it
Can’t wait for it to seed and to split it looks stupid in my small garden !

Don't you worry. They can seed even in September. You will have another month to wait. Think about something else, my dear!

Do you live in a house or ground floor flat? Lovely new house, @Leeski ! Please show us more before you move. Are you better now and have you caught up with your sleep please?

Wine will certainly help you sleep! Glad that you're better.

I think we are wimps

STILL no let-up: 90F south will be hotter than Miami this week with three more hot months on way as drought makes parts of nation look like Mars
  • Forecasters say this week will be hot with 90F (32C) today as high pressure continues to move over Britain
  • Met Office issues a level three health alert, warning of 90% chance of heatwave for today and tomorrow
  • Temperatures in South will soar again with lots of sunshine, but Kent and Sussex may face thunderstorms
  • Met Office has predicted in its three-month forecast that the warmer weather is set to last well into autumn
Stupid newspaper scaremongering about 32c. Even @johnny canoe has 34c in summer! I hope they shut up a bit or I blame everything on the heat or the Met Office! LOL!

If my neighbour bought this house, he would pinch that no-man's land! LOL! He has been pinching land left, right and centre whilst the elderly neighbours looked on. No moral courage.. Even I haven't got it or I would report him to the council tax office as he had more than 4 rooms and he's paying 3-bed council tax band.

If you're buying a house, it might be a good idea to get one end of terrace with a bit of land and then you don't have to rent an allotment or get worried about people pinching or dumping stuff. Mind you, some people enjoy a lot of camaraderie in an allotment. So nice to have a new house to live in.

For sure we have saved like mad to get our deposit for our first house at one point we only had £50 a wk to live on which looking back was kinda fun didn’t feel like it at the time - being a chef I use to spend my day off cooking the family’s meals for the whole wk god bless Aldi & Lldli :)
