@Perki You're telling me. I got the shock when my bill came, nearly £500. If you see a red gooseberry in poundshop, Hinnonmäki Röd, do buy it. It has a wonderful flavour. You've probably got it already. I have Cambridge variety strawberry and they are delicious. I seem to be very good at killing them. Do you grow them in a pot? I have so much that I just don't care if I kill them. I'm so bad and mad.

Snapped some lovely orchid yesterday..

Haven't done much today. Repotting some orchids and getting rid of 2 dead ones. I bought them for their ceramic pots for 20p each. Repotted some galanthus and put my Judas trees (about 3 inches tall) back into the lean to. This cold spell is worrying. Also split open a 5L agapanthus into 2 and repotted them into smaller pots. Hope I have not killed them. Tons of roots and they have all been trimmed off.

I wouldn't have trimmed the roots, they like to be a bit pot bound. You haven't killed them, they might not flower this season. But i planted mine in the garden and they flower ok, just have to see.
I haven't done much today, I crushed up some of the egg shells that i've got. Fed the birds and a bit of housework. Had 2 extra walks to do, hubby was working.

I am growing the strawberries in troughs for the next 3-4years, sick to death of slugs ruining them. I got a gooseberry bush red don't know the variety, I not even sure I like gooseberryies anyway  .

I don't like them either, but the red gooseberries were very sweet. I am not arguing with £1. I have some black raspberry. I can send it to you as a birthday present. (I need to check where they are. I have tried to propagate it. It came as a stick from a bamboo lover. He got away with my expensive lovely bamboo and I got raspberry. If I can find one, I will let you know. But are you keen on this raspberry, Perki?

Yes, that's the trouble with strawberries. You need straw! Ah, isn't that OBVIOUS?:LOL:

Logan: Oooooops! Why didn't I ask first? Must be the poisonous airs, damaging my ability to think!

Been building a bird box this afternoon from a left over pallet. I haven't fixed the roof on yet , not sure if to make it a bit longer and use thinner wood, I haven't left enough room at the top to screw it on the shed really so the thinner wood would help

. I am putting some felt on the roof as well :).

Very bright and no ice on the road at all. Initially, the weather man said that it would be colder today as it would be cloudier. Sun lounge was heated by electric heater as it was very cold last night. I just turn on the light later during the day to save a bit so that my plants can enjoy some warm at night. Already water bottle, bowls of hot water are there to do the job as electricity is too costly during the day.

Snowflakes??

What snowflakes! Commuters mock defeatist rail bosses for warnings over 'Armageddon after 6pm'... as BA grounds flights and shoppers panic buy amid fears that the worst of Beast from the East will hit soon
  • Commuters in the South East travelling home from London were told to complete their journeys before 6pm
  • But many have taken to social media to ask what the fuss was all about after getting home after the deadline
  • British Airways grounded dozens of flights either departing or arriving from London Heathrow due to weather
  • Met Office severe weather warnings for heavy snow in place across Britain today and for the rest of the week
  • Are you experiencing travel chaos or food shortages in Britain today?

In truth, it's not that serious!

Can't do much today. Hubby had to order 2 new on and off switches for the vaccum cleaner, There's 3 of them, but hopefully it's just the 2. One is a reset, 2 on and off switch. He's ordered a reset and one on and off.

If it's the Daily Mail that says that, don't believe it.

Need to sort out my passport as the end of March will see a steep increase. Council tax increase, road tax disc increase...
