The leaves in the back look like a mimosa not sure if it is the same plant? It is a shrub/bush or perennial? Will try to remember to take pictures tomorrow :) my oranges are particularly dominant this year, lots of yellow too. Love the contrast against blues and purples

Morning all , another lovely sunny day that is not going to be unbearably hot......perfect !(n):)

Hope you have another great day today @alp.......what have you got planned?

More seed harvesting, seed sowing and potting on some Wallflowers that didn't get done when the majority were done recently.
Went round dead heading last night, Might also take some more cuttings from the Dianthus too

Have a great day, safe travels @alp and son:)

Seed harvesting?? Mine hasn't flowered yet!:cry:

Yesterday, whilst I was dozing off in the car, ex phoned up and said the tree surgeon phoned and wanted to dump his woodchip/barkmulch for me. I was thrilled. Ex warned me that there would be "awful lot of it!"

The more the better.

We are going to Hyde Hall Flower Festival - first day of it. Won't buy anything, but just feast our eyes on the beauties!

Happy Yorkshire Day! Glad that Gove is going to have a meeting about the adverse dry weather and the poor growth of grass. Driving through Yorkshire was really enjoyable. Parcels of lands with sheeps and cattle and the fantastic panoramic views of the valley, especially so on the way to RHS Harlow Carr!

You're amazing. I haven't had redcurrants for a while now. Blueberries perhaps. Got to go to Hyde Hall or we will park near the reed toilet "organic" waste disposal unit!:D

You're amazing
Thank you so much.:)

This morning hubby picked 7lb of plums from the garden, had to dodge the wasps. One variety that does well for us is Czar. Better than Victoria.

Both for our breakfast, the plums will be in the fridge and use a few at a time.

@Upsy Daisy Holiday snaps. Not exactly mine! Came home and got the shock of my life. - the tree surgeon literally dumped 9 x £29/bag amount of leaves and bark mulch. Son and I were both crippled for different reasons. He driving too long and fell down the steps and I arthritis and I blamed Beatrix Potter gallery. By the time I finished reading Be careful of your feet which should really be translated mind the step. My foot went down and that's the end of my happy manageable holiday. After that, I limped and skipped and held my hip.

When we were in Sheffield, i said to myself that it was lovely - a bit grey, but cool and pleasant inside the car. Once we hit Northampton, the sun became very rude and knocked me for 6. The temperature must be about 31 or 29c and it was so hot that even Hyde Hall was not enough to tempt me to stay. Then at home, I had to empty all my pockets for blamed myself not having the intuition of the early collector. My seeds disappeared, especially the salvias. I had only about 6. Don't know where they went. If I were the early collector, I would get the sack!

Ahhhhhhhhh! @Logan - the goddess of fruits!

@Mark56 I got a bit fed up with the forumulaic stalls. Any funny enough, the displays were so half-hearted. Last year, I felt drama and high octane beauty. We saw black agapanthus. This year, it's not a patch on last year. I had been to Beth Chatto twice. Don't think we would go. Capel Manor was a treat though. I always enjoyed it when we went even though it was and is only a college

Oh dear @alp sorry to hear about yours and son's various aches and pains....hope they ease up for you both soon.:(

No , I know the recent pics were from your holiday(y) I meant all the previous pics that you've posted over the last month or two from your beautiful plants in your garden.....loads of seeds to collect and cuttings to take I should imagine:)

You've done really well getting all that mulch.....now the hard work begins of spreading it all!!

Glad you had a lovely holiday though, you certainly covered a lot of miles!!!

Funny you should say that. It was a hellllll of a drive - Stowe to Tatton Park to Liverpool John Lennon airport and then to Harlow carr and then to Hyde Hall in Chelmsford. A man tried to give us a leaflet saying that if we went back to East Riddlesden Hall, we could enjoy 20% discount. I told him that there was no way we would go back as we lived in East London. He laughed and told us that he was from Hackney! There you go! Ne need to say more. We saved the planet by not taking that sheet!

Apparently, I can't use the bark mulch and leaves straight away as they are FERMENTING! Crikey! It was steaming inside the pile. We worked for an hour in the great heat and sweat and tomorrow the nightmare continues! LOL!
