Thanks alp. Those santa cruz begonias get treated the same as all my pots and baskets. I use plant prod annual flower slow release when I plant and then every week they get fed plant prod flower water soluble fertilizer. I feed heavy because I only have 4 to 5 months to enjoy them.

Yes I am enjoying my garden these days, usually I sit in front of the GH at 6am drinking coffee, then happy hour at 5pm for a couple glasses of weak wine mixed with an Italian fruit drink, YUMMY!!

Wish I could join you! Only if there is a breeze! Even now I am sweating next to an operating fan. Think I should start making ice tea with lemon. I do like my tea or Illy coffee. Love coffee strong and milky - there is such a silky feel to it. We now have low rumbles and a bit of lightning. Hopefully I have a bit more rain at 22:00. If you look at my garden, you would realise that I am cramming soooooo much that I don't even know I have these plants the following year. My eucomis suddenly sprang up out of nowhere and said hello. And I go, "Oh, didn't know you staked a claim to this spot last year!" Love it when they return. I reckon I killed quite a lot in the process.

Thank you for the tips on the santa cruz begonia. I will do that after this heavy shift of rain. My white version is doing very well.

Please rain and don't frighten the kids with lightnings or thunder!

Wonderful picture Johnny, when I’m better Canada is on my list of must see countries outside of the content! So lush and green compared to here.

Hurray, we’ve had another brief shower at 8pm, OH is pleased as haven’t had to water as much. More due at 6am! Looks like some your way Sunday Alp?

Yes, I was ogling the area map. Seemed to be raining at 22:00, but hit and miss and at the moment, it's missed. Such a relief not have to water tomorrow, @Mark56 ! I myself would like to go to the continent before Brexit. I have only been to France and Germany.

See, where I live is allergic to rain!

Now it's all quiet. Not even thunder or lightning!

The dark spot where I live in

SAM_0515.JPG

I saw flashing lights through the door curtain and wonder if there was an ambulance for next door elderly neighbour. This lady was in a smaller Ford Ka parked to the right of her and another police car to the right of that.

The woman's car is still parked right next in front of my front garden.

Good morning to everyone and good night to some: There has been no rain throughout the rain, and I could smell the factory next door up to about 3am. The rubbish bin size tub is half filled. I filled up one big paint tub only to find it leaking. Any way, filled up 2 proper ones for insurance. Concrete ground is already dry.

The orange echinaceas are so pretty, @Mark56 ! And the gourds are so good-looking, @johnny canoe ! Soon, you will have birds flying in and out of them.

I think we must look rather silly as 37c is not the end of the world!:LOL:

After Freaky Friday comes Stormy Saturday! Roasting 95F heat explodes into furious tempest with 90,000 lightning strikes and flash-floods...with more to come today

  • Mercury rose to 95F (37C) today, triggering thunderstorm warnings which have swept across the UK
  • Motorists are warned ahead of lightning, flash flooding and large hailstones that could hit eastern parts
  • 1,300 households left without water in Brighton after a pipe burst - with supplies 'pouring down the road'

Oh my ....can't quite make out what happened, did two cars collide or did a car drive into a sign post....was anyone hurt?

Morning @alp and @Leeski, well I think we had a bit more rain in the night but nowhere near what was originally forecasted :(....it does look damper out there so that's good (y)Sunny now but quite a breeze blowing.
Same here, sadly too cloudy to see the blood moon:(

Yes, the amount of rain was just pathetic and no more for me today either.

I reckon by the time the rain patch arrives in Essex, it will be totally dissipated.

The car, an Audi, (plus ca change) is still here with two police cars flanking it. The man had been questioned by police (son saw it) I could be that the small car is coming out of the lane and the Audi was unable to predict the the car coming out. The small car was not damaged and I saw the lady driver. But I don't know. It's a fairly straight road. There have been quite a few accident right at that spot. People don't know cars can come out at that junction and speed up as it is going up a tiny slope. And Bang hit the car coming out of the left. The Audi driving must be driving at speed or highly stoned or drugged to get into such a state 4am in the morning. Son got woken up.

I am so glad that the farmers in Spalding and East England got a bit of rain! Hurrah! I can visualise their relief!
