That's lovely! I do remember seeing it. Are they from seeds, @Upsy Daisy ?

I so wanted to buy Helenium Moreheim Beauty, but that nursery only has Sahin Early and even that looked tatty, so I left with a Salvia Patens and a Thalictrum. Well chuffed. She had the label £7.25 before. Suddenly, I saw £2.75 so I chose one with tons of side shoots and they are now in form of cuttings. Glad that I did a bit of gardening even in this heat.

Please rain, rain, rain! Don't just get clouded over!:cry:

Nice photos and nice flowers, @Upsy Daisy ! The coral gladioli is just so beautiful. Love that colour and the pink daisy like flower is gorgeous. Very nice photos, @Upsy Daisy ! Even the silver dust comes out a treat! Wonderful!

I have never come across a scented mirabilis. Perhaps after 5pm??? Hehe!

You have to say your Moorheim is very pretty. In the desperate search of that, I forgot to look for Achilleas.. I really love some of them.

@MaryMary How's your project for the new house coming along?

Short answer - It's been sidelined. :(

Long answer - I thought I posted about that. I wound up quitting the part-time job. We had agreed (at two interviews) that I would be getting 20 hours a week. I never did. I averaged 14 hours a week. Finally, I got so frustrated that it occurred to me that I was losing my days off, and driving an hour (round-trip) just to work a four hour shift!! o_O

I have been keeping my ear to the ground, and have been (more or less) offered two other jobs, both of which have told me I would get all the hours I want... I just need to choose between the two, and get off my butt and go apply!!

One job would pay an hourly wage that would look good on a loan application. They have told me that they would hire me in at more than minimum wage, with another dollar in raises within a year.

The other one would be waiting tables, which means that they pay half of minimum wage, on the understanding that I would make up the rest in tips. Counting tips, this job would give me MUCH more money. The problem is, the banks only see the hourly wage. "You can't guarantee that you will always make that money."  (I've been through that before, trying to get a car loan.)

So, do I take the job with more money, in the hopes that a bigger down payment will sway them? Or do I get a year of "job history" at the job for less money, but looks better on paper?!  (n)
