Morning all and lovely pics @Upsy Daisy. I don't like hostas, a slug magnet.:)

@MaryMary it would be wise to go for the job with more basic pay, so that you can move.:)

@alp glad that you have some insect repellent, sudocrem is good for skin irritation. You will find it with the baby products at the supermarket. Used to put it on Bracken's bare tummy when he was young, cocking his leg up the bushes in the spring with the stinging nettles brought out a rash.:(

Catananche is spectacular. So many flowers. You've done well and they are certainly a keeper. I haven't got any now. Could you keep some seeds for me please? I think @Zenj has some as well. I only have the sporadic one here, one there. I do think they like the sun as they "walked" from the shady part of the border to the centre of the middle patch.

Oh, no! The sun is in full glare.

Neighbours! Who wants them. But mine is lawless and devious. Are you moving to somewhere near where you are now?
Not sure yet still gotta find another 10k I like the Wirral but houses are expensive if it was just left to me I would move to Wales can get a fab house with acre of land for 200k

Hosta can be very beautiful, but slugs definitely are a big problems. In The Beechgrove, this couple are big on hostas and they have fragrant flowers too.

I just don't have the moisture for them.

Why!? I have the same idea! With a stream - but I have a son and he needs to find that elusive job. Going to Wales might not help. It's like I want to live in Brentwood - a lot of unused fields and open areas - just my cup of tea - so nice and air quality much better, but houses are so expensive.

We keep our Hostas in pots and don't have a S&S problem.....but sadly not at their best this year despite copious amounts of water :(

I think it's like my Astilbes which are surviving, but with one tuft of flowers and most of the leaves scorched whereas Zenj's are beautiful with a luxuriant plume! I think some plants just need moistures like Trollius Chinensis, and meconopsis, they sulk when the conditions are not met!

Same here! I saw one with 3 acres of land and a dilapidated barn below £300K. I definitely would go for land with a stream (in case we have another drought like this evil!). Yes, polytunnels, chickens, goats, pigeons and fruit trees.. I am dreaming already at 8:08 in the morning!:eek::eek:

I saw an episode of Escape to the Country! Wye valley can be very beautiful. This couple bought one house straight away with solar panels already installed and they wanted to do Glamping! The view overlooking the valley was breathtaking. Imagine getting up every morning looking across the whole valley with few neighbours to bug or gas you!:cry:
