I would think the store knows @alp by sight and stocks plants accordingly!

I am a favorite of one lady as I usually swept up her reduced stuff which were destined to the bin if I didn't buy them. Another lady recognised me and asked me, "No plants today?" as one day I bought up all the bromeliads which fortunately or unfortunately as a man who loved indoor plants said, "You can never kill them"!:LOL:. They are indeed doing too well:banghead::banghead:. They have sideshoots which I have no idea where to put! Oooops! Good morning, ex-Adonis!

I sowed some lovely coloured Achilleas .........never germinated :(

I have plenty of the white!

Monty wad busy chopping back as well...we're not the only ones @alp:D(y)

Same here for achillea seeds! What a waste of time. I saw another terracotta yesterday. I bought this one in Hyde Hall Festival and it has died on me. Not very keen on the yellow colour. I might need to cut back on the white ones as well. Today, I saw an enormous hole in the upper patch. I have no idea what was planted there before. An animal?? Whoa! Hold on, I might need to rig a camera to find which FAT BIG 4 legs who did it. It's the size of a crater, right next to one surviving achillea, one of three. I am so useless, not good keeping them alive.

Had the day off today so pottered round the garden. Got the two agapanthus navy blue planted ...

Watched the other footy match and back out into the GH while the weather had cooled down enoguh to sit inside and prick out the wallflowers and some bedding stocks. Like everybody else been round watering the pots.

Saw the agapanthus in the nursery and their buds were huge. The midnight blue in the pots have tiny buds. I guess I haven't fed them well, apart from water that is. The way I water the garden is just unsustainable. I hardly scratch the surface, but I have to do so as the remaining grass might be totally dead. Can't really show people my house with two big patches of soil and yellow bald mounds, one of which caused by ants!

Can't believe Portugal is out! The press were saying how well Ronaldo was playing. Stranger things happen in World cup football!

I blame @Upsy Daisy for my buying 50p a tray of sweet peas! Now I need to plant them out or let them face extinction! 50p is nothing. I really wanted a rose, but was too mean to buy from the nursery. Then went to Homebase and was egged on to buying this tray and another tray of Zinnias. 50p! How can I resist? Wonder @johnny canoe has such luxury of seeing so many things priced at 50p?!

Going to take some pics of roses. They are wonderful and perfume my garden. The dry air from next door's cooking doesn't help. I feel like putting up a board to block the dry and hot air!

Here they are

Wonderfully scented roses

About 6 roses on that plant. A triumph in this desert weather!

A cluster of Viburnum P Mariesii which forgot to flower earlier! Bliss!

Such interesting bracts

Sunflower today

Purpurea echinacea
Yellow Tanz echinacea and some diabolical weeds

Can't wait for them to flower as my garden is very slow this year!

Farmers are crying for rain too

Great news, kids! There's a broccoli shortage - and growers say it'll soon be missing from supermarket shelves if it doesn't start raining soon
  • Growers say high temperatures and lack of rain are causing a broccoli shortage
  • The iron-rich vegetable will soon be missing from supermarket shelves, they say
  • David Simmons, from Riviera Produce, says a lot of rain is needed to keep crops growing

The temperature range here is 25 to 27c till next Saturday!:banghead::banghead::inpain::inpain:

Joking....promise I won't really;)

Morning all!!!!!!

Off to the seaside today!!!
Nipping across to Dorset again ,probably stay the night there.
Just giving everything a quick watering then we are off....only an hour's drive hopefully, depending on the traffic . Mind you if everyone decides to go to Bournemouth or surrounding areas then it could take all day!

Have a fab day everyone :)(y)

Seaside will be full of people. Yes, make sure everything has a drink if you want to stay the night. Might be able to spot you in the news - one of the throng, probably spotting a thong! Oh, crumbs! What has overcome me!

Switched on the laptop to see this blessed buyer's response. He said he would collect the uPVC sliding door 5pm. Then said he couldn't make it. Yesterday, we had another collection time at 5pm yesterday and he phoned at 8pm, saving he had a BBQ. I had to threaten him with YOUR MUM'S TALKING! Twice. Obviously, hasn't been brought up properly by mum as he said he would collect 11am. We didn't go out for his collection and now he probably would say he couldn't get up because of late night.

Dusted the garden with 2 bags of 40L mpc. Hope it helps.

Hello alp, I'm guessing that 50p is about 90cents Canadian. No, I would never find a flat or tray of Zinnias for that price. Actually it's hard to find Zinnias in my city.

Yes, they are for very hot countries. Hang on, I saw an Albertan grow watermelon. You must give me your address and I would like to send you something for Christmas. And I thought I saw zinnias in your photos. Let me go back to have a look and report back here.

Even after a shower at nearly 8pm, I am still sweating .. Heavens help us. Give us a bit of rain! Let me play a detective!

I think I have seen these in your photos. You must be calling it by a different name or I have made a mistake. I have planted the black eye deep blue delphinium in that big hole dug by don't know what. I reckon it could be foxes. They were always digging holes in my garden. One morning, I saw one going towards my garage door whilst brushing my teeth and when I came down it's nowhere to be seen. They are a nuisance especially when they are mating -- Initially, I thought someone was being murdered.

One morning, a woman told me that I needed to put a tray of water in my garden as she saw an injured fox there. Another one said she hoped it died.
