Hi all
It’s been a scorcher today first time I’ve seen a grass hopper in the garden sunning itself

Love your visitor! Can you get it to visit me please? Or the Essex heat too much for it? I initially used him, but after reading it, I really didn't want to give the wrong impression, so I change him to it! I feel so much wiser now! Hehe!

No good visiting me, any way! Foul air might kill it, not to say the heat! I suddenly noticed even my neighbour, with his £10/hr "gardener", also has bald patches on his lawn. Now I don't feel so bad although I have a few more, caused by the incinerator which generated some much needed ashes which deter SS!

Nice to see a grass hopper. The last one I saw was 3 years ago. This morning around 6am, I saw a squirrel go back and forth my lawn and then it sat on neighbour's new fence and kept swinging its tail. Very jolly. By the time I was out with the camcorder, it's gone!

That purple flower is lovely. Is it some form of convovulus or morning glory please? Love its stripes!

Love your visitors! So you haven't had rain for a while. I am sure you appreciate my panic! All the lawn cracks up, bald patches and weeds everywhere. Don't even dare to weed the lawn!

The rest of the gang must be on exile from heat!:ROFLMAO: Heat in various guises. Lately, I have been very busy doing up my house, so haven't posted elsewhere as regularly ..

It's going to be a boring match between Belgium and England as they are both going through. Glad that Germany is out. No offence to the German! Some German played the Last Post on the internet on Germany's being kicked out. A very sick joke. Hope England just sails through.

Southgate has done very well, considering he missed his penalty years ago. Fancy Big Sam watching TV football in a pub alone whilst Southgate is in charge. At least, we don't have egos like Rooney or Terry in this team! Bliss!

PS: For your info: BigC disappeared in winter and I never expected him to come back! But he did! Forumers come and go .. and I haven't said anything out of norm or impolite! Perhaps people feel jaded and don't want to post. I know the feeling!

I'm here.... Helloooooooo!
It's a busy time of year and with the extra need for watering then people are doubly busy and doubly worn out:)(y)

Plus of course the footy as well.

Moved a lot of the potted plants onto the east patio....much cooler there for them and the morning sun is less damaging.....well that's my theory:LOL:

Slightly fresher feel to the day today, much nicer:)

My morning glory are glorious and they are everywhere! Footy is soooo boring and one man watcher in the house keeps saying these lousy footballer shouldn't be there if they kicked the ball straight into the legs of opponents's goal keeper!

More shootings in the US

BREAKING NEWS: 'Multiple people shot' in mass shooting at Maryland's Capital Gazette's newsroom
  • Police were called to an active shooter in the 800 block of Bestgate Road, in Annapolis, Maryland
  • Early, unconfirmed reports stated that four people were killed and at least 20 were injured in the shooting
  • John McNamara, who has worked for the Gazette, has been confirmed among the shooting victims
  • Intern Anthony Messenger tweeted at 2.43pm there was an 'active shooter, please help us'
  • One suspect has been taken into custody

    Sad state of affairs!

This is not gardening. This is hate. So I am stopping this thread now because as a male it is insidede my wide vision to do so. We have the history channel to see any outcome from the same thought processes decades old..

Somehow the digital world seems different to young people but of course they need to learn no.

There are distinct differences between socialists and those that seek to own their own property. I personally agree with private ownership.
