Britain BUCKLES in the heat! Roads melt and gritters hit the streets to stop concrete cracking in 'extreme' conditions while commuters head home as mercury pushes 90F on third-consecutive hottest day of 2018
  • Britain could record hottest day of 2018 for third consecutive day today as temperatures near 90F (32C)
  • Heatwave gripping UK causes huge wildfires, fears over train tracks buckling and a public health warning
  • Met Office says heatwave could end on Sunday when spell of thundery weather could move into the South
  • Rail providers have imposed speed restrictions amid fears train tracks will buckle in sweltering conditions

One wonders how the Indians go about their daily business in their kind of heat!?
Meanwhile road temperatures in parts of Ireland reached 44C, causing the road surface to melt

marinating n sitting in refrigerator is the key! Like most meat dishes. I start my curries from seeds roasted to grinding them into powders to do my curries always the best flavors there. No shortcuts

I love lemony herbs. Do you have a recipe for Balti please, @Aldin ? I'd love to have one authentic one! Or Balti doesn't exist amongst you!?

Can you actually grow tamarind? Love that as well.
Tamarind is a huge tree if you have the backyard space you can. I grew up with a tamarind tree in our backyard.Tree gives good shade too

Papers over hyping everything, you would think we never had 30'C or higher before . I been out in the sun all day / everyday, I haven't keeled over yet.

Plants arrived this morning :) 2x Agapanthus blue navy - 2x solidago fireworks - 3x lobelia hadbspen purple - geranium renardii - heuchera cherry cola - salvia black & blue. put them outside by the back door , the salvia were already wilting when I got back, I watered them at dinner as well. I could do to get them planted but can't be bothered yet.

not all the pots just the ones in the middle, the other pots/plants are others I've hoarded

Hehe! Physically or emotionally?!:ROFLMAO: Hope you're loving your Becky now!

Sorry for being late. Done probably more than an hour of watering. I will spend money watering and saving, where possible, some of my plants. Already all my hanging baskets are dying and beyond salvage. Happy news is that a tiny salvia cutting has got flowers. Probably shouldn't be kept. But it's a joy to behold.

Wow! What lovely flowers and pics to behold! I love your husband's power to change that path into a curvaceous and interesting landscape feature. Tell him that he's brilliant please, @Upsy Daisy ! Soon you will have agapanthus standing up handsomely there, probably.

I thought we had a newcomer, @Perki ! Your flowers are so pristine and beautiful. I can see a palette planting somewhere! Very smoothing!

Isn't it nice that everything is going to flower and into their proper colour now? I have yellow Tanz Echinacea showing yellow, echinops showing blue, the poisonous oleander buds glistening with scarlet sheen and a burgundy pompon dahlia trying to break through.

The sunflower says hello

Glorious even though it is dull and grey. I am NOT complaining. Lovely weather and a respite!

A little tea rose, but she is compact and perfect, nearly!

Trachelospermum jasminoides
SAM_0042.JPG

She is reduced to half of its usual size because of the lack of heat and water!

Morning.....just!!
A friend sent me pics his first grandchild last night via email....it totally bugged my Tablet:eek::eek:

It wouldn't work at all, the browser that came with it was locked/ unresponsive. In the end I gave up at gone midnight. This morning I downloaded another browser....bit complicated now but at least I'm back!!!:);)

A lot fresher today, which is very welcomed indeed.

By the way, great pics everyone:)(y)

When the electronic gadget is down, it can be one of the most stressful times. I love this laptop. But when it is down, I get scared as it is a bit old. A bit fresher in the morning, @Upsy Daisy ! But my lean to registered 32C!:eek::eek::cry::cry::cry:! And our rain forecasts have been dashed. The lovely blue colours are further and further away!

I direct sowed quite a few things. Fed up with mollycoddling. Have direct sown zinnia - a beautiful one by Johnsons

What am I going to do with all these tarty red currants?

Helenium Lolipops - a bit pathetic!

Heat reduced Hagley Hybrid. Half of its correct size!
