I don't mind drizzle, but where? :eek::D

Going to work in the garden all day as the weather seems to encourage it. I thought it was going to be bright and hot. It's going to cloudy so just perfect for a spot of weeding. Just planted out 3 more dahlias .. I could have a national collection soon!

:) , My trouble is that I chucked a few pkts of see seeds randomly about a few weeks ago....and I forgot what they were:( Now I can't tell what is what.....driving me nuts. I want to hang on to see what blooms before yanking out the weedy bits.It looks a bit messy( that's the polite description.:D:ROFLMAO:)....but I'm trying to kid hubs and myself that it's good ground cover.......but we are not too convinced:LOL:.
As soon as the ground is disturbed.....more seeds settle and germinate.....doesn't help matters that we are surrounded by fields that are left to their own devices...albeit the grazing horses try to keep them under control. Some days the air is thick with seeds drifting about........seemingly on a mission to land in our garden:(

I only chucked a bit cosmos sulphureus next to the newly planted dahlias so that the former can benefit from the water. Terrible that you have soooo many FREEEEE seeds!:LOL:

afternoon all, on my dinner break so will have to be quick .
@BigC My grape vine is planted outside the GH and trained through a gap into the GH. The soil is free draining and mostly loam soil, they don't like sitting in wet conditions. I mulch it every spring and feed with FBBone and epson salts.
I think the training is called spur & rods system. I started another rod last year. All laterals are pruned hard in january back to 2 buds from the main rod/stem , it continuously prune through spring and summer cause they grow like mad, if a lateral as flowers ( grapes ) on its pinched to 2 leaves after the bunch, if they they is no flowers it is allowed to grow to 5-7 leaves then pinched, any side shoots what grow on the laterals are pinched to one leaf and so on. The variety I grow is black hamburg cause its supposed to be one of the best and easiest to grow . I wish a started with a seedless variety , I thought they would be hard to grow when I first started.

Well I've done it!
Went on a mad chopping off spree ( rightly or wrongly). My thinking is the plants are struggling so their energy will be conserved if they have less height and stress flowers/ buds. Mmmmm we shall see!

Sure its easy, just loosen the skin and rub chicken seasoning under it and a little on it.

Set up a grill, smoker at 300f and pop the top on a coke, gingerale or beer and insert into the cavity and stand the bird up and steady it... (Snip.)... Also known as "Drunk Chicken" when using beer because the legs get loose at the end...

 One of my old roommates introduced me to chicken made that way. Explained the process to me, and I asked, "You're going to stick the beer can WHERE?!?!?".

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Ever after, it was known as "Beer-butt Chicken." It's very good that way! (y) You can bake it in the oven, too, if you don't have a smoker.

MaryMary, just make sure the chicken is dead before you insert a can of beer.
We have a smoker/grill, and often prepare chicken (dead) on it. As in most things, I have supervision:

I wouldn't dare to go out in the sun. Once I go out, I will see everything wilting and I will be using that watering can. Down the last half butt of water now!:cry::cry: I could use a big plastic sheet to catch condensation tonight! LOL!:cry::LOL:

Very strange! Despite the cloudy sky, the thermometers actually registered 23c indoors. Shock horror.

Was thinking of having another look at @DirtMechanic 's recipe. I really wanted to have the spicy BBQ favour in the supermarket. Might need to hunt for tamarind paste. Any way, need to write down DM's recipe and have a go. Chicken is only £2.09 for a small one in Lidl.

@marlingardener Love your cat! He probably is salivating just supervising!

@Upsy Daisy When I bought my Mirabelle plum, the guy said he could tidy it up and load it into my car as I was thinking of cutting half of the tree down so that it fitted into the car. He said it was flowering at that point and that if I did so, I would lose the chance of having fruits. Well, there is ONE fruit on the plant. The trauma and the heat and the fact that it fell down more than 10 times have not helped.

Begonia is becoming bigger because of the heat

A verbascum seed has found its way to my raised narrow border and look, it's already more than 5 feet tall

And I thought it was the old Nicotiana!

Seeds collected when on holiday. Have no idea what it is. Quaint little beauty!

@alp I am sure even rotisserie chicken spices would suffice. Additionally I am imagining The Most Posh Salad in the world given your deep knowledge of plants! Did I say that right? Posh? I finally got a chance to use it in a sentence!

Hehe! So funny that the American find the word posh so funny! That makes me laugh. Knowledge of plants??? Haven't go any! I had to google so many things .. Soursop is the latest one! Another superfood, apparently! What word do you guys use instead of posh, I wonder!

Oh, no! The sunshine is blinding even though I am having my curtains drawn! Gee! Shockingly bright!
