Going to get down 7.30. He said he would be ready for 9am. I bet 9am is a bit too late. Just dust the garden with ash and cinder and going to do some watering. The garden is thirsty.

Great news indeed for Monty. OBE is an archaic way of recognition though.

A bargain indeed Alp, I purchased that one for my mother before, it was definitely double figures!

How old is the Lupin Upsy? I grow My Castle and the Governor in big deep pots - they do well, just like the Delphiniums. No chance of growing them in the ground here either Perki.

p.s. Hope you are all well, still struggling here but hoping to check in more often as you all lighten matters with your wonderful pictures and chat. :)

Glad that you feel well enough to drop in for a chat. Hope you feel more settled.

Was very pleased with the discovery as another store were trying to sell a 9cm pot of gaura for £2.50! Wish there were more choice as the label showed a red and a purple ones! Although it is cloudy, it is still very humid. I trimmed off some bamboo offshoots and planted them outside. Also separate the alstroemeria into 2 and planted them into two different places. I might be tempting fate as I planted them with the pots in.

Love the sign BigC :) might try and get one myself :D

Tackled next doors grass / jungle / meadow , some of the grass/weeds were taller than me  and I am 5.11 foot.

Manged to get a few plants in this afternoon - rudbeckia herbstone and 2 cobaea alba. Panted up 3 hanging baskets for someone as well :). Replace the dead choyisa aztec pearl with verbena B , the cold wet weather and a move has seen it off :(. I did spot a choyisa white dazzler for £3 in the reduced section at the GC but didn't have any room in my rucksack  so I put it to the back and turned the label round so hopefully its still there when i return :D

Nice to see you pop in @Mark56

Sorry folks birthdays honours etc have beome a laugh. Awards like the MM or the VC and more. Awards agreed by the monarch worthy of a gong. Sorry but in my book this has become a mockery. A footballer gets a gong, why? He is simply playing a sport that he likes, at the same time earning thousands. What benefit is this to the nation. All these awards are far from the exploites of individuals who have placed their lives onthe line for their country

Poundland or maybe B and M @Perki for £1 sure you couldn't buy the slate for that..I'm actually thinking of getting a few more and turning the writing around and use them as chalkboards for the bar area.

so I put it to the back and turned the label round so hopefully its still there when i return :D
I've done that before :devil::LOL:

Good morning to all: I think you mean Princess Diana for clematis. I actually love Princess Kate. My clematises have disappeared. Kate seems to have died and so does Diana.:cry::cry:! I am so gutted as they were very expensive. Have a look at Princess Kate - I think this is a more special variety.

I love that sign too. Will buy it if I can sell the house.

@Perki I hope you're paid well for that and make sure you wear protective clothing. The blessed hellebores have made my life hell - scratching me all over in the arms.

Cobaea is a very tender plant. Make sure you collect seeds or retire it to your green house or you will be smothered with it one year and bald with it next, like me!

 so I put it to the back and turned the label round so hopefully its still there when i return :D You might have more luck to removing to a different corner. Worth a try.

Today, I am going to my favorite gc. I must say it's too early to hunt for bargain. I am after some interesting delphiniums.

@Mike Allen I totally agree with you. It's the so called royal family making friends at our expense and keep their lifestyle for as long as possible. The security for the family is busting our coffre!

It's a dull day now, but it will be a scorcher. Hopefully, I can get things ready for photos for the house next Friday! Wouldn't it be nice to live in Derby, perhaps next to Ashwood nursery. I have found £300k will only allow me to live in Wickford, probably with caravans as neighbours or pokey 2-bedroom terraced hammed in by ..
