Good morning to all. I worked 2 hours flat out yesterday and weeded an area near the back with less sun but a lot of warmth and residual heat. Planted out 4 more dahlias and I will prepare a bed to move the singular rectangular plot to the back to make the lawn whole apart. It's drizzly now and I wish I had a bit more rain, but let's not complain. Drizzle is better than nothing.

I wonder if my Meconopsis x 3 are too late now. I used a spray to add moisture to the air (how pathetic was I, but needs must be!) The Trollius Chinensis are in buds now, so pleased! ;) I think you should have these, @BigC . You have the weather for it. BigC: How many seeds have you sown in those grids. Mama mia: Are you feeding the while street? I put mine out in fabric planter and was just out to check for SS. They shouldn't have been there as the bottom of the planters were lined with ash and cinder from garden weeds. But I surrounded the planters with Blueberries and what not and the SS clung to the pots and up the branches and down to the planter fabric! :banghead::rage:

I have too many stubborn perennial weeds and I burnt them all together with wood that we didn't want.

@Perki Colocasia is a man's plant - Big and black and sinister!

Yes, @Mike Allen It's an enigma that all the weather reporter say, "Sadly, it's not a heat wave!" I don't even want a heat wave. I cry for the farmers when there is an extended drought. A bit of rain does us people in the SE a lot of good!

@BigC yes thanks hopefully i can do my beans today, as long as the drizzle stays away.:)

@alp I don't like the hot weather, but i do like the sun.
It's never in between temp. It's always too hot or too cold.

Son brought some treats for the boys and now Barley's got the runs. I'm not sure if it was the treats, or not.

Hubby working all day today,at 6.45 this morning he went to Sainsbury's to get the cheep wholemeal bread for barley, the shelves were empty, no bread at all. Why do they open early, but nothing on the shelves.

Good thing that i've got white bread in the freezer.

Oh, dear! I hope they don't soil the place. I don't think I will ever keep pets. Hate the smell and the work and the vet bills. Yesterday, this dog, Tilly, kept licking me! Lovely dog, but please, concentrate your effort elsewhere!

Thanks but no they're very good with that, they'll wait until they get out. But if they're being sick, that's different. But Logan would try to get outside.

The whole morning was spent researching conveyancing prices. By the time I went out, it was too hot. Just did an hour of replanting. Wonder where I can get some good grass seeds to repatch my bald area.

2nd year running, this annual has come back like a perennial - huge tobacco plant - nearly 7 foot tall. Self seeded again.

2 iris seed pods. I should have at least 4 or 5 of these.

Planted up 3 containers of runner beans.
There's 2 plants to each cane and there's 8 canes in each container.
There's crushed egg shells and 2 plastic milk containers in the middle, so i put the water in them so I don't disturb the egg shells.

Put fleece around and tie it under the rim. Then fold the fleece over that and peg it with clothes pegs.

It will stay like that until the beans have grown up to the top.

Got enough bean plants to do another one.
Before that got to repot 7 chilli plants. I should have enough compost left over to do the rest of the beans.:)
