Good morning to all to a dull and grey day. Woke up at 6 and been out removing plants for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Will go out again before 8am as I need to duck the heat to get things going.

@BigC The garden is really like a Beer garden. Now you need to charge! Such a lovely place to relax and find yourself.

Morning!!

Hopefully in for a fairly good day. We are off to Mottisfont to see their roses in the walled garden. We timed it wrong last year and missed them at their best. The first time I saw it I was amazed...took my breath away!! My Dad said that there was an article in the paper about the roses being all out in full bloom... so sounds like we are in for a brilliant day :)(y)

Have a nice and fragrant day, Upsy! I wish I had picked more mulberries and stored the seeds. Loads of people staining their fingers and collecting them in their little trays. I was too late as well. Mulberries, yes! Roses, no.

It's just too far for us to make it a day. I might make it a day with Wisley and then onto Mottisfont. Not going to have any holiday this year. Got to go out before the sun comes blaring down. Have a nice day, everyone, whatever you're doing!

@Zenj What is the last flower please? It's like a cross between digitalis ???

Love the violet in the centaurea - why is someone else's stuff so much classier than mine! Mine is an ordinary blue. What is that pink beauty please? And the orchid delivered by stork? Hehe!:LOL:

Why do the storks only send me common weeds? We are very hot here, from 2 to 4 pm, I removed all the bulbs, irises and hellebores from the lawn to return the rectangular plant area back to grass. Tonight, bonfire. Need them to help stop the SS on their track.

Come in to research how to prepare area for grass seeding.

Evening all.....What a scorcher we are having..it fair drains the sap right out of you...Just a little interlude before I start the watering in earnest. I have a few we dry spots at the edge of the grass so I've prepped them and sowed a thin layer of grass seed and broadcasted a little compost over them to keep the birds at bay...Other than that.....
Everything's comming up Roses....:LOL:

Brilliant afternoon at Mottisfont, the colours and perfume was mind blowing. Sadly only had my tablet with me so the photos don't do it justice .

@BigC lovely roses.
Thanks @Logan..I hit the Greenfly early this year and they are a picture of health since I placed them all in the sun and fed with Miracle gro granules.
So you got your beans out after all...is it essential to put muslin around the canes?

Yes, i only intended to do 3 containers but i had a lot of bean plants.
I cover them with fleece to keep the slugs and snails away, mainly snails. As long as they don't climb up the outside of the canes. But usually it works. When the plants have grown up the canes, it won't be a problem.:)

That's great about your roses, don't have much trouble with greenfly on mine.:)
