Hi all,

Got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (a chronic pain condition) last week and have been focusing on small garden tasks but it comes in flares. Still able to enjoy the beauty of the garden in small doses :)

Hope everyone is well, Logan those wallflowers & tulips are stunning. Alp I'm jealous of all the things you can grow in the Essex dessert ;) like Perki, quite a few winter losses like a few of the Agastache black adder due to the cold & wet but Camellia E.G. Waterhouse is still flowering. Isn't she a keeper?? Will try to remember to take pictures, all the apple blossom is out.

Sorry to hear you had a tough day Upsy, try to emerge yourself in garden escapism. :)

So glad to have heard from you. The diagnosis can concentrate your mind and effort to make life easier and better. I have now caught the camellia bugs - got about 3 or 4 more. They are so beautiful and the one from Lidl have three different flowers. How amazing! I'm so glad that I actually have got a Williamsii X Debbie.

For those in Scotland or Ireland, The Beechgrove Garden have been on for 3 weeks on. Very good programmes.

Logan: Are they Spanish or English please? They are beautiful. Mine are definitely Spanish. I bought some English ones, but they seem to have disappeared. What a shame. Mine are much smaller and upright. I love the pink ones though.

@Mark56 , so sorry to hear that you are suffering from Fibromyalgia, horrid condition to have to endure. So many 'triggers ' or other ailments can bring it on, hope the reason for yours can be either looked into, supported or medicated.
Listen to your body and only do as much as it is telling you it can cope with.

Thanks for your kind words

Take care.

I am alright now, nearly shifted the bug I've had.

Sorry to hear about your condition @Mark56 , my mother got diagnosed with Fibromyalgi about 10 years ago, it a life condition from what I know of. She has loads a pain killers for it, she can be alright but if she does to much it can cause pain problems later / day after.
On a brighter note my agastache B-Adder are showing signs of life :)I dug up two delphiniums the other day cause they looked dead, they were still alive just, slugs had eaten the tops off any shoots.

Good morning to all! No wonder your mum couldn't pack before moving, @Perki ! Glad that you've slain the bug.

Can you slain the SS for me please? A big and healthy camassia flower head (nearly 1.5" in diameter although it is more oval!) was snapped and the nasty left the bud dangling down. I was so upset. So I walked around and took 4 pots inside my lean to. My fritillaria imperalis x 3 are now nothing but white stalks - no leaves whatsoever.

Talking about moving - I put out 8 adverts plus for selling the stuff at home - a keyboard stool for £5. Buyer came half a day after the advert and they left very pleased. Then someone enquire about the garden chairs, another about the aircon unit. I even put heavy duty sailing ropes on gumtree. Very little money, but some gardeners might want to use it for climbers between poles.. Better than chucking them to the tips. I hope they go as they will go through the rubbish bags. Logan: Your bluebells are so pretty. Bet you won't keep a piece for me!

Hibiscus cuttings taken last year. Only a root each. Should have used a heated propagator

The snapped camassia flower head! COL!

Morning all.
@alp the heavy duty sailing rope would look nice either on a decking or looped between heavy wooden posts in a pond scenario. I was once going to use it for this very situation, being put off by the high price, I think then the GC were looking £30 a mtr.

Loving the Hibiscus, @alp I always remember my aunt's in her garden in Australia, such massive blooms

Well today I gotta get set for the long weekend if the weatherman is to be believed I should get some jobs done. My small personalised bar sign is well under way and the tiki torch accessories set should arrive from Amazon sometime today..I want to get off early hitting the hardware store for some compost and chalkboard paint..the shopping and afterwards a coffee at the GC then home hopefully to lop a few trees. I might look at some small bark chippings for the boarders but those blackbirds are a pain at the moment :)

My Honeysuckle seems to be making a comeback after a neighbour murdered half of it for the crime of growing over his fence..He cut it down and had the audacity of throwing all his handiwork back over my fence...I dunno why he didnt like a bit of colour in his garden which is , for want of a better word...A Tip...
Whats not to like about this variety.

Very pretty honeysuckle! Some people are control freaks and born miserable. My neighbour has ivy with nasty air roots coming into my workshop vent and felt. When I chopped them off and chuck them over, they screamed and I couldn't be bothered arguing with thugs and lawless people. so I shredded them. Now I know why they grow so much of it. It's supposed to purify the air!
