The sun is out and my hunt for insurance is no better or wiser. The sun is out though and it's lovely. Sunny and warm. Nothing much going on in the garden and it has had a good soaking.

BigC Meerkat and its ops are controlled by 2 or 3 big companies which in turn control all the comparison sites. You go round and round and the prices are the same. Extortionate. Call me cynical! But hey, that photo makes me smile .. so :LOL:

Not sure if this is the same pair that built their nest in exactly the same spot last year, ( right next to my greenhouse) but the young have hatched....but they have kept their devoted parents busy !! Turns are being taken by the parents to go worm hunting.

Nice! Could be the same pair. That looks like a clean and nice and snug place to build a nest. Sheltered as well. Now that I have so many feeders out, even blue tits will stay on the branch just 2 feet away from me. Before, they disappeared very quickly. Now the sun is gone, it's almightily cold. Gosh! Car insurance is sooo dear and there are so many pitfalls. Protected no claim bonus, windscreen extra. compulsory and voluntary excesses. They have every means to relief you of your money!

Good morning! It's grey and cold. I wouldn't want to be the seeds sown .. BigC - you're earlier than Logan .. umm .. Hope you have some power snap and doze off a bit.

Must sow some more seeds.

Sterlised my secateur and ready for some serious action. I will give myself an hour.

Yes couldn't sleep again worst luck but dozed off..I have a delivery and fitting in Dublin this morning with a VIP fitting in the South of France on the books for June.

I am working on the signage for the bar area and transferring printed text onto wood by a method I've used many times before so that should be fun..I need some blackboard paints and chalk...and I've been looking at how to make chalk signs on YouTube it really is an art form in itself.

I have a multitude of seeds to plant and I must get them in before its too late but I need to lop the trees and weed the boarders and clear up first..the weather forecast is looking good for the long weekend so hopefully I'll get everything done..

The next major task is the grass an often overlooked aspect of any garden

BigC Soon you will be learning Calligraphy, too! No wonder you couldn't sleep. With all that rain, I reckon every day is a good day for weeding. Here I have to act fast before the clay soil becomes concrete. Now onto my next tea.

BigC: get some supersnap! And don't overwork yourself .. France is a lovely place, but I prefer our grass. Bet you will be wined and dined. Encore des escargots! Yuck!

I had those in Jersey earlier in the year and believe it or not I actually quite liked them ...honestly they were yummy ... I'll try anything once

I have always loved eating raw oysters, but scared whilst eating them.. The danger is very real! Cooked escargots should pose no such hazard. I would stick to
cuisses de grenouille!

It's going to be hot, hot, hot!

Heatwave weekend! At last it'll a balmy bank holiday as temperatures soar to a sizzling 82F (in the South at least)
  • This Bank Holiday Monday is set to be the hottest since May 1999
  • Despite the chilly and rainy start to week, temperatures are set to hit 82F (28C)
  • This makes large parts of Britain warmer than Spain's Costa Del Sol and Ibiza
