It's a nightmare. But my son would import all the sites for me. What a saga! I should have kept dogs/cats. How people punish you when you want your little darling to have independence.

This man from Hastings SmartMiles/igo4 told me that since my son is unemployed, we should pay more. But I told him I HAD ALREADY told a female operative that my son is looking for a job and he no longers uses the Kent address. I was made to listen to music and then she said NO change. Last night, I was on the point of paying and suddenly heard: if you want to change the term of the policy, you will be charged £45. I went OOOOOps, better have another look. Shock horror: The policy said, "social, domestic and pleasure", but no commuting. I fired emails to ceos and a Michael called. He said that the female operative did not update my son's occupation status and that I would be put on hold and he came back with £650 instead of the proposed £516. I begin to think that they never updated any details and just following company directive to up th price. Then I received this email from Michael who beseeched/begged me to trust him, he said this letter would tell me that commuting is actually INCLUDED in the policy, but never printed in any of their policies.

Then I read

Last year's price**: Your new price:
£1,082.97 £650.45

I realised that the guy had read from a different hymn sheet.

Last year I paid:

Last year's price**: Your new price:
£615.77 £516.76

This is pure nightmare!

I think I AM getting old and senile and may need @MaryMary 's help here

:) You want help with the insurance, or the newspaper article?

The father was jailed. Take out the bit of "sensational fluff" and just read the facts!! :geek: ;)

Daughter speaks out after lecturer father who raped her for years and threatened to dissolve her body in acid bath if she told anyone is jailed for 20 years

It is a strangely awkward sentence for a newspaper. :cautious: They wanted to get that " " in the middle to get your attention.

Haha! Insurance is for the moan! I am getting fed up for being ripped off. Yes, it's so obvious now that you;ve deleted the fluffy bit. Thank heavens that you have more time for the forum now, MaryMary! Love your presence and information.

For insurance purposes, you ALWAYS tell them that you drive as little as possible. (No one is coming to check the mileage on your car! :ROFLMAO:) I told them that I work 4 days a week, "about 10 miles" from home. (Reality...5 days a week, 18 miles from home!! :sneaky:) ... I told them that I go to the grocery every 2 weeks; it's a half mile from home. Other than that, I'm pretty much a homebody.

They do NOT need to know that I love to go traipsing hither and yon, OR that I have a bit of a leadfoot, as well. :angelic:

Now, in your case, :sneaky: is your son under 30 years? If yes, then YOU do most of the driving. You are the mature, experienced driver, they see him as a rash, impetuous youth. And you barely drive anywhere; you order seeds online, and play in your garden. You stock up on groceries so you don't go to the store very often, and as a matter of fact, your ex drives you most of the time, anyway!! ;)

Insurance is all about risk assessment... :sneaky:

Aww... :shame: :joyful:

It's working ok in Chrome for me @BigC - can you post a new thread on this in the feedback area (https://www.gardening-forums.com/forums/feedback-and-comments.21/) with a screenshot please, and I'll do my best to help you get it working :).
Dunno whats happened Ian..I'm pretty much computer savvy having built my own for years but software is usually my downfall...Anyway all is back to normal now so either you've pushed a few button your end or I have a bad infestation of Gremlins ...Thanks everyone for chipping in....Normal service has now been resumed....Time for me to relentlessly pester you all again hahahaha
