I head a bomg and saw neighbour's twin, his girlfriend and his nephews chucking snowballs.

They then chucked them at a big lorry, a Tesco delivery van, a bus going up and a bus going down. Just show you what troublemakers I am living next to. I had to stand next to the window looking at them like a hawk!

Looks like some of you may have a white christmas! :)

Chocolate and cake sounds tempting.....Count me in (y)

At least half of my newly purchased bulbs are potted up every year for planting out in spring. They will grow away ....forming roots over winter.....without any hiccup and then produce their colour exactly where wanted. Cover with fleece during freezing spells and they will be fine(y) Will top up my lily order with a few more Regale Lilies .....never have enough of these scented beauties :)

Have you had snow, Verdun?

I'm so worried. Some erythronium bulbs were like half dead already.. I have a plastic bag all over it, but still quite worried. Never expect the snow to be this far down. It's nearly 5 years since we have had our last snow. The piano teacher said that it looked like nobody lived in our house, no footprints, not lights in the house!

Watching The secret history of gardens by Monty and Levans Hall was mentioned and it's fascinating.

Alp.....forget the weather report for down here. We are surrounded by sea. The weather differs even 5 to 10 miles away. In summer, for example, it could be heavy mist over this coast yet brilliant sunshine on the other coast not far away and vice versa. Makes it interesting if you are chasing the sun! However, the middle of the county and eastwards it is colder and more snowy so, again, many of us chase the snow up there :)

So where do you store these pots then, Verdun? Don't forget, you can scale your own lilies.. I wonder if mine will survive the deep freeze. Didn't expect it to be so vicious..

Havent got the patience to scale lilies Alp. Besides, they get bigger year on year and eventually they make large clumps themselves anyway :)

I "store" my pots of bulbs on spare areas of the garden.......prob 50 pots of lilies, tulips, daffodils, anemone blanda and purple alliums. They will all be planted between March and May

Blue skies mainly but then a sharp wintry shower comes along. Mother nature playing her mischievous games today :(

Well still haven't done my tulips, arrived back home and it was pouring and blowing a right old hooley! Quite a few upturned pots and our large garden wall clock laying on the patio with it's glass all smashed :(:(

Absolutely not a single flake of snow to be seen at all @alp:cry::cry:

Been keeping myself amused by making little Christmas ornaments:)

Very heavy snow here all day, I don't recall it like this for 5-6 years. The forecasts failed us again, we had heavy rain to begin with yet it's settled. Managed to knock some of the snow off evergreens and shrubs with a broom - got absolutely drenched. Still have some alliums and daffs to get in. Wellies on and took Barney over to the fields, his first time in snow as he's only coming up 2 - he loved it despite only being hand stripped yesterday but no complaints, tough little dogs.
