Went down the road and took someone else's protruding branches. Used Upsy Daisy's bottle method. When the weather is better tomorrow, I will take some rose cuttings and see if they grow in a potato.

A most frustrating day. Can't even walk in the garden as it is so slippery. All slippery clay and no grip. I am trying to identify my galanthus. Well, you know the verdict - all very confusing..

It's like identifying hellebores - ALL VERY CONFUSING!

This one is named Desdemona

  4. double - messy or tidy
  5. stripes on the outer petals, right at the end or in the middle.
  6. markings on the innards.. ???

Yes, now you know how messy I am! Ballerina tree stock is shorter or taller than M27? Do you know? Please name some good apple trees - sweet and juicy and crunchy please? What is the difference between gala and royal gala please? Have you tried Lord Lambourne? Any good?

What is @UpsyDaisy's bottle method, please?

And... in a potato? I've never heard of that! o_O Would you please...

...take pictures of this process, and start a thread?

I'd like to see it whether it works or not, but I can understand if you want to wait for results before posting!! :D

I will leave the bottle method to @Upsy Daisy , @MaryMary !

I was outbid on a snowdrop. The seller didn't even fiddle with the bidding and son and I were bidding £3.40 and £3.60 in the last 30 secs. Er, no. It went to £10.50 as the highest bid!

For rose cuttings in potatoes, please watch:

@MaryMary its the Winter Sowing method using recyclable containers, I always use plastic milk containers, clear salad/ veg containers . Just Google Winter Sowing, not widely used over here in the UK, but I believe it's used a lot over your way. I love it ...just sow and forget about them, but check first that seeds are suitable for this method.:)(y)
