Corr! That's a long way to drive. Must be nearly 5 hours or at least 4. Doesn't your heart bleed when your children have to drive such a long time to come to see you, @Zenji ?

Goat Curry sounds lovely. I haven't had a decent curry for a long time. Love some Jrefrezzi (spelling??) and Balti. Had another unforgettable one in Shropshire near the Ironbridge. Really loved that.

Talking about slippery floor. Have been thinking of investing in some tyres with grip. Been thinking of Continental, Toyo and thanks to @Silentrunning, Hankook as well. Any other suggestions?

Youngest son does not drive so comes by train he had a meeting in Leeds and there was people there from Newcastle so his company paid for it one way so that was ok .When he moved to Brighton we hired a van to take all his gear took 7.5 hours fram Newcastle with one small stop.My eldest son lives in Sweden they just change to winter tyres every year and no matter what there weather brings they keep on the move, as here we come to a standstill.

Your youngest son is a bright spark then! Get him to learn to drive. It's an essential skill. Train fares are soooo expensive here. 7.5 hours!:cry:

I remember falling asleep driving on the motor way. The car behind me must have seen me drifting and the driver gently horned me. That gave me a TERRIBLE fright. Imagine killing son and myself! I was so scared.

That's the trouble with this country. They have no fool-proof ways of doing anything. Ripped off left, right and centre and someone needs to have the vision to prevent these standstills happening every time we have a few inches of snow.

Hope @Zenji has the time to capture another photo. The sky has become a bit more bluey! Thank heavens. Signing off now. Come back later.

A bit of a mystery nearest I can find is a snow bunting but not sure it's a odd looking thing ,as been back this morning very briefly with another one a lot plainer could be a pair but if any one else can name it I would be pleased :) Just to stir things up its obvious the male which as all the lovely plumage I'll go and hide now.

Meh, that comment doesn't bother me. We all know it's the female that makes most of the decisions, choosing the male, and usually picking the spot for the nest. She does most of the work sitting on the eggs, too.

If I have to do all of the thinking, and most of the work - he'd better be nice to look at!! ;)

No need to look further, just look at a pheasant or a peacock. Evolution has a message to say to us. Don't you think?

That's a funny snowy bird! Wonder what that is! You can see she likes the snow or has a snowy camouflage. At first, I thought there was something white in front of the bird.

You certainly have a front seat:LOL:, @Zenji and a reliable performer! Fantastic. If this happened to me, I would be clued to the spot and film this visitor.

It has been a most cheerful day! Er, exactly the opposite. Tomorrow is even worse. We are totally submerged in rain band for the whole day! Buzz off, winter!

Anybody sowing any seeds now? I'd like to know. I don't want to miss the boat!
