Ah, now I see! Thank you, @Upsy Daisy ! The word is staring at me in the face. Good morning to all. I realised I should have entitled the video Goldfinches. I did the video myself and uploaded it to youtube myself. After complaining to Yorkshireman, the upload speed is much better, but of course, there is a sting in the tail. I will have to decide if I want to go back to the entry level speed.

The winds were terrible. Whooooossssh, Whooooossssh, Whooooossssh! I was worried because of the clanging noises as well. Then there was NO internet. After an hour of sweating and being hot, it came back. What a nightmare!

Morning all ......gosh what a night!!!!!

Heard a bang in the night and came down this morning to find that one of nice pottery pots had be blown over and smashed to smithereens!!!!:cry: Have to find something to repot the shrub into now.....a bucket!!:D:ROFLMAO:.

I do love listening to the wind , but get a bit scared when it's really bad as we have a lot of big trees around us:nailbiting:

But now the sun is out and the laundry is blowing frantically about on the line ......just hope I don't have to go on a knickers hunt around the allotments :couchpotato::shame:

Keep safe everyone (y)

Oh, yes! it might be a good idea to protect all your raised pots as winter is not officially over although sunshine has eased our pain a bit. Went to try to get more deck tiles, but no all gone and the other stores didn't store them. Looking for a wooden arbour, but they said they still had stock, so won't be on clearance. @Upsy, best go and have a look to see if you can add some of these value enhancing garden fixture for a song.

Shame they still have 3 in stock.. I'm waiting for the ex display. Another man wanted a £20 shed. I wish I had a truck. Even though there are bargains, I can't transport them. Just come back and will be out to clear an area. Too much too do.

Hello Alp,
You have a lot of bird activity in your yard now, it's fun isn't it.

And about people walking across the frozen river, yes, several fools do that every winter and a couple usually go missing until spring.

+8C for today and then another cool down coming.

View attachment 31453 View attachment 31455 Still very cold our pond as been frozen lots of time this winter ,the bird is eating the rubbecia seeds

I wish I had chopped off my rudbeckia seeds. I even bought some suet pellets £1.99 in Home Bargains for them, such is my love for them.

That's a big bird.. That looks cold, Zenji! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Johnny: You're lucky that you can see them in your yard. We have to drive 30 minutes to go to see them. Before, we went to the park up the road, but the charge for parking and don't fill the bird feeders. We didn't see any birds the last two times we went. So I'd rather buy some own.

If these foolhardy people crossed the river, they would say they had an adventure. If they didn't, the coroner would name it misadventure. It takes all sorts. It would be fun to be able to walk across the river. That's a huge one... some feat or freak of nature to have the whole river frozen! Love the frozen scene - seems so harmless. Going to have a cup of tea and see my handiwork of the bird feeders. Trouble is there are a lot of posh eateries here! Mine is a workers' canteen!:banghead:
