Good morning to all: Overcast, very mild but with a little bit of a spit in the air. Supposed to be very warm today 23 is possible. Sun is not yet out. No wind at all, so Ophelia is still a way off.

Just took Berry for his walk and the sun looks very strange.

It's more orange than that. It's probably dust from the Sahara desert.

Hi,

Very nice paintings..

Thanks for your kind comment alp. (y)

Very overcast here again today in fact just the usual black hole; warm and dry at the moment with 20C forecast for this afternoon; the high wind has relented letting the usual prevailing breeze take over so all in all not a bad day for us and I've been in the garden in peace this morning. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks alp. (y)

I've been on light duties this afternoon thinking I'd better ease off before I get carried off but this has done me good because I feel much better and am now ready for more grafting.

I did a watercolour painting of trees and the way I got around being colour blind was to check on the web which colours to mix to make green these being blue and yellow; all I had to do was to use blue and yellow paint and just play around with mixing the two; the result is shown below; if I have a problem I can usually found a solution.

Kind regards, Colin.

This is very kind of you Logan; thank you. (y)

Sketching and painting are hobbies where peace and quiet are needed but in our busy lives we tend to have more pressing jobs to take care of; I'm sure though if you have a go again you'll pick it up as if you did your last sketch yesterday; it's rather like riding a bike; once done never forgotten; perhaps like me one day you'll settle down to have a go again. I have more time in winter for such activities but then of course it's always cold and dark.

With my luck alp if I buy a kite it would never be windy again. ;)

Kind regards, Colin.

Last night we had some storms come thru, they didn't look bad on the radar, i.e. not a huge storm, but as I looked to the north all I could see were lightning strikes, virtually every second, but it was so far away I couldn't hear the thunder -- kind of scary looking.

And as the storm passed over us the lightning did not let up, it was all around and seemed like all strikes were just outside the window, then I hear a large bang at the end of the street and all the lights went out...stayed out until the wee-hours of the morning.

That was one of the most intense lightning storms I've been thru, which was weird since the storm itself wasn't that bad, i.e. not a lot of wind and the small clouds moved quickly thru, but it packed some wicked lightning.

I guess that's why Florida is the lightning capital of the USA.
