Hi,
Bron and I live very near The Pennines making weather forecasting unpredictable but what's the point of a weather forecast for us when we appear to have three months bad weather and nine months winter every year; our climate is dire and again its another black hole today.
I have a constant companion called Blackie; he is my own personal cloud and accompanies me everywhere; Blackie loves to join in all my activities; I used to paint the bungalow exterior in oil based paint; Blackie would behave whilst the undercoats went on but I could guarantee as soon as the last brushful of gloss went on Blackie would give the wet paint a good downpour; you might think I'm kidding but far from it.
I've recently built a new garden hut from scratch; I had a big holly tree to dispose of resulting in removing a section of garden wall to access the roots; then rebuild the wall and back fill before leveling the site and laying full sized flags then build the hut; this was supposed to be our summer; as I moved around I grew taller due to clinging wet clay/mud on my safety shoes and if I walked around it didn't take a bloodhound to locate me; I've worked through pouring rain; thunder and lightning; gale force wind; hail and even been scorched with rare sunshine.
The timber (lumber) I bought for the hut when delivered must have spent a year at the bottom of a pond because I've never ever worked with timber as wet; as I ran the screws home the water oozed out; felting the roof was fun as the wind joined in.
We live on a steep valley side suffering extremes of weather; some winters we have a dusting of snow other winters our neighbour digs the street out with a JCB bucket; When Blackie really does his thing our steps into the rear garden are transformed into a pretty cascade; the rainwater gushes down our garden down the steps then splits going to each side of the bungalow on its way to the valley bottom. Being so exposed we enjoy horizontal rain which lashes the bungalow front driven by high wind.
I'm about to head into the rear garden and I know Blackie is waiting for me;
Yorkshire and Humber
Forecast Summary
We too have low life to contend with alp but ours is a family the parents living directly next door with a grandson and family across the street; the police did a drugs bust a couple of years ago on the grandson seizing their car at 2am; the family are a joy to live so near and are well known for beatings; muggings; car theft; drugs and burglary etc in short they are brilliant neighbours (NOT). Our air quality though I think must be good considering the amount coming up the valley?
Bron and I are very quiet and no trouble to anyone just wanting to live our lives in peace and tranquility but we can dream on; why are so many people nasty these days out for trouble and doing a bad turn whilst doing a good turn is alien to them.
Am I complaining; well no because in spite of the weather and living amongst low life Bron and I are happy with each other; we make the most of what we have worked so hard to achieve and refuse to let anything upset us.
Right Blackie I'll just put on my work kit and join you so please turn on the tap.
Kind regards, Colin.
