Although thousands have fled their homes, those who remain in the storm's path have been asked to write their names and social security numbers on their arms in case they die. Harvey is on course to make landfall as the strongest storm in 12 years, triggering power outages and 'catastrophic' floods due to the expected 40 inches of rainfall. Texas Governor Greg Abbott warned that Harvey would be 'a major disaster' and President Trump wished 'good luck' to people bracing themselves for the storm of the decade.

Sounds awful. I hope the worst is over .. and every single person accounted for.

Did I hear Fried chicken? I love fried chicken, but feel a bit worried as we have it every week... Yummy .. especially when they are prepared by someone else. Lucky you, @johnny canoe ! 30c? Whoa, that is a bit too hot. I saw people buying charcoal. Where I come from, we had BBQ in the winter ..

I can understand the panic. At the beginning of summer or end of spring, it was sooooo hot here. I still have 6 butts full .. I am sure it will rain your way soon, @Logan

A glorious day and I have potted up 7 pots of hellebores this morning .. Will do some more tomorrow. 17 to 28c.. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
