Hi,

Bron and I started to watch this but couldn't make sense of it which these days is normal for what's on TV; we watched this below instead via YouTube on our TV; this was brilliant and now we're watching lots more from this top class woodturner. Why do we have to pay a TV licence?

Kind regards, Colin.

Hmm..

Is he an ELO fan?

Hi,

Thanks for asking Sean; he might indeed be an ELO fan; Bron and I like ELO especially Mr Blue Sky. (y)

Bron and I settled down on Sunday night to watch "The big painting challenge" BBC1 at 6pm; after 30 minutes I gave up and wandered to the computer; what is this program really about because there are two "mentors" and even a vicar expressing their views; is the program about the mentors or the contestants? Why not let the contestants do their thing without being told how to paint?

Kind regards, Colin.

This has previously been the problem with this programme. It came into similar criticisms before.
Some of the mentors have a "look at me attitude," both in their manner and sometimes their dress. They see this as an opportunity to be noticed and get perhaps more work on TV.
It can appear similar to having Rembrandt executing a painting and a couple of schoolboys looking over his shoulder making, "helpful suggestions."

I'd be interested in seeing the quality of the work these so called "mentors" have produced themselves.

Hi,

Thanks Sean. I fully agree with your comments; I won't be watching the programme again.

The last series Bron and I really enjoyed were "The Great Pottery Throw Down" we thought both series were well worth watching and a bonus for us was that we had visited the pottery before the series was made.

Our TV viewing is YouTube but even now YouTube is being invaded by ever increasing adverts; Bron's watching a Trevor Howard movie whilst I'm on the keyboard but I'll shortly joining her to watch a quality old movie without endless swearing and violence.

Kind regards, Colin.

I've got all the Commonwealth Games on "series link." But I'm going to be very selective about what I'll be watching.
For a kick-off I'm avoiding the pointless opening ceremony (Charles and presumably his personal toilet seat is in attendance) and with deft use of my remote control, I'll be able to completely avoid Clare Balding.

The games haven't even started, but one Australian female boxer is assured of at least a bronze medal. With only seven contestants in her weight division, she has had a bye to the semi-final.

Swopping channels during the adverts whilst watching the snooker, the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony is still going on.

It's been heavily "Aboriginal," how original.... I guess it won't be over until Kylie sings.

Been catching up with Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in the UK. A bit slow, but very good!

Been watching the Creat and Craft channel to get some ideas on how to make cards. Only interested in the demos.

Hubby watches Utube through the Humax, that way don't get a lot of adverts.
Watched a lot of George Michael videos on there.

Watching the first episode of Coming Home. Watched it because Christopher Ecclestone is in it. First 10 minutes - quite good!

That's what I thought as well. Don't really like fiction. But Christopher Ecclestone spiked my interest. OK! So far. Onto the 2nd E.

Agree it was good, have seen it all. Brings home the damage that can be done to the children if breakups / divorces aren't handled with care. The welfare of children should always be paramount.

The woman is so selfish. She has 3 children and nearly wanted to kill her husband when she finds out that she's pregnant. She should count her blessing that she is healthy. The girlfriend is bad news.
