Very boring. I can't see the point of people converting to another religion. In fact, I think people arguing too much about their respective gods... That's why I don't like fiction and this one is far fetched. Doris spotted the spy and straight away, they knew she stole the morphine.

I prefer to watch 48 hours. Genuine and some crooked policeman just made me want to cry. Imprisoning someone for 25 years knowing the DNA refuted all ..

I really enjoyed the first series of a Place to Call Home, particularly the contemporary music.Subsequent series, not so much.

Here's a few I can remember from the first series.

Frank Chacksfield Orchestra

"Where is Your Heart,"

"Ebb Tide,"

Ray Anthony.

"At Last."

Jo Stafford,

"You Belong to Me."

The Mills Brothers,

"You’re Nobody ‘til Somebody Loves You." (the version with an orchestra).

Joni James, (she was popular in Australia)

"Have You Heard?"

"Why Don’t You Believe Me?"

Louis Armstrong,

"A Kiss to Build a Dream on."

Woody Herman,

"Sweet Sue."

The Andrews Sisters,

"I Can Dream, Can’t I?"

In subsequent series, they started using contemporary cover versions of songs popular when the series was set. On the later series, even more covers are used.

As an example, in Series 2 this song is sung by, Martha Marlow, it's listed on the CD.

But this is to what people would have been listening, in the year the episodes were set, 1955. A decade before it was recorded by the Righteous Brothers.

Why watch it then?:)

Some of It I was surprised, i had a feeling that Regina would kill herself, but not to blame Sir. Richard. I didn't think that George would change his religion. I knew what Olivia would do that and Anna wouldn't find happiness. I thought that they would let Sir. Richard rot in prison.

What I can't understand how there's going to be another and final series.

But it's happened before when they keep doing more series it just loses its way.

I just need to find out how silly it gets. Let's put it this way, the plot line went downhill after series 1. And guess what I will see the next series just to see how it all ends. One of the series had a very old Sarah and an Oliver reincarnated as one of the granddaughters ..???? How is that related to the present scheme of things?

George was doing it because he loves her,so
It must be love.

Love takes many forms, as Jane Austin would tell you, but some factors such as financial stability and social status play important parts. To change your religion because of LOVE doesn't indicate a judicious mind! I would understand if my partner had a different religion, but to convert to another one smacks lack of judgement. Religion is controversial on its own. Period to this discussion.

Not bothering with the last series after watching the first episode on daily Motion, I'm wondering how the death the policeman Regina shot and killed in the previous series, didn't feature in the story any more.
This swopping religions seemed a bit contrived, Sarah swopped hers "at the drop of a hat" just to marry her first happen. Why didn't she swop back?

It all seemed a bit like a kids "Saturday morning picture serial," with contrived cliffhangers.
