Thank heavens there is a last series. I think series should finish before they became far-fetched and ridiculous. Anna has been a huge disappointment to me.

I agree.

I thought the last series was a bit disappointing.

I started watching this one on Daily Motion, but gave up after a couple of episodes.

Artie Shaw wrote his biography and called it, "The Trouble With Cinderella."

The trouble with Cinderella, according to Shaw, was that she lived in a fairy tale, as he had done when he walked away from fame at the height of his career.

There's a parallel here. In that the story really ended with everyone getting what they wanted and Reggie in an asylum.
To me it seems that the writers couldn't leave it at that and had to find more problems to justify a further series.

Hard one to call. Difficult to build up a fan base. Now that they have a strong one, they want to milk it. That's why TV companies pay so much money to established names, an obscene amount, making Jeremy Clarkson an attractive man to young woman who wants posh cars, grand house(s) .. in short, a meal ticket!

I wonder why you find the dogs in the picture most interesting. :D:D:D:ROFLMAO:

Kind regards, Colin.

I might record Make! Craft Britain, but I know I might not like it. I don't mind "looking over the shoulder" of someone making something when they know what they're doing, but I draw the line at "attractive blonde curly haired presenters, having a go at splitting slates," or anything similar. But this might be pretty much the same.

Smacks of cheap to make, prime time TV.

When I was at school, I was a member of "The Printing Club" The school owned a Victorian or early twentieth century treadle operated printing press. We met after school and set the type for various notices and programmes for school activities. As for the most part we were unsupervised. A few of us had a nice little earner, printing up business cards and wedding invitations, for our "personal customers."

Carved With Love, sounds like a more interesting programme.

Carved with love sounds good. I wish they would run a competition on wood carving. Most interesting. Like the Big Throw .. Those programmes are so inspiring ..

A place to call home - Don't think Regina has changed. if she changed, there wouldn't be another series.

Carved was a bit of hoot.

Talk about playing up to the cameras. The guy from the Chippendale (the home of mahogany) had me smiling. His affected voice and mannerisms were a picture. The deprecating way with the disdainful look as he said "Oak." was classic. John Bly was his usual entertaining self. But there was nothing in this I'd not seen in some form before. The illustrations in Chippendale's Catalogue have been featured in other programmes.

I miss Antique Roadshow's "Woodworm Willy," (Arthur Negus, died in 1985) He gets shown occasionally on Road Show repeats.

I didn't watch the big throw.

We'll have to see about Regina. Also about the next series. :censored:It's been a very popular drama, a lot more than Doctors in the afternoon.

I didn't watch it, just thought that some people might. BBC 4 do a lot of programmes like that.
Also on Fridays they do all sorts of music.
