We are suppose to get some rain this evening.......if you can believe the forecast! Very warm though ,going to reach 19c this afternoon. Normally I would look forward to the heat , but for the sake of my poor dry garden I'm not now:(:(:cry:

Logan: Irises are one of the easiest to grow. Dry area and anywhere facing west, they will oblige you with lovely blooms like MaryMary's every year.

@Logan want to find out how to propagate begonia, so switched on the laptop again.

Ceanothus really put up a good show this time of the year. I bought one and it was crazy in the sun, but it's a ripens all covering my front path. In the end, I killed it. Now I bought an upright one, tucked in the corner, so hot that it is wilting now, together with my wilting scented Viburnum × bodnantense. Need to water them after this.

The latest iris - looks very pale and insignificant

Oh dear, I don't think it's the heat, everything is so dry. The polyanthus is wilting. Over here all the grass on the verges is going brown.

Oh, dear! My lawn is still green, but all the flowers are wilting a bit. I had 5 drops of big rain and then it all stopped. The sun has been bearing down on Essex after that. Glad that you have rain. The whole country has been dry.

The Scilla Peruvian has more or less totally flowered

The yellow stands up like a beacon, can be seen right from the house.
This wishy washy signet has turned into a swan in half a day.

You have to see it in real life. Much better than on photos
