Good morning chatterboxes :)
Another sunny warm morning. What a glorious spell of weather we are having
Early walk to the beach.....all quiet, blue and sparkling.
Some planting to do in the top garden today where shrubs were removed over winter and area revamped.
Have a good day folks ;)

Good morning, Verdun! Glad that you have sunny weather.. I have used up another butt. Only 2 left now..No words to describe the panic in me.. To add insult to injury - it's grey and cold.

More sieving to do and watering.. Love to see your garden in photos, Verdun!

Morning alp Logan and Verdun , how are you all today?

alp, I bet your arms are going to ache with all this sieving! Having said that I've still got a couple of smaller borders to mulch , so I may join you!:D

So pleased to hear that your tum is starting to behave itself Logan.....one less problem to deal with:D

Verdun , I'm so envious of you and your lovely sounding early morning walks.......perhaps we could all join you........when Logan's leg is better.....mind you it won't be that peaceful ...with all our chatter:D:D.

:(:(:( No cake today, hubs has just said that he wants to get on with some jobs in the garden and that we will go another day , on the plus side at least my Cosmos will get potted up at last and I can join alp ,we can sieve together:D

Happy Sunday everyone.

Morning Upsy Daisy, thanks.:DIt's still grumbling a bit, but a lot better.:D
Going to make it easy on OH today, he's just got to cook a joint of beef, and I'll do the veg at the table. Yesterday we had baked beans, tin tomatoes on toast, with fried potatoes, sausage and fried egg. He did ok, but by the time he had his, he wasn't hungry. Have a good day all.:D

Finally, another chatterbox is up... Talking about mulching, I phoned the number given to me very kindly by our very busy @Tetters, only to hear a line cut tone:eek:.. Think they have gone to greener pasture ;).. No longer there. Phoned several times and wrote down the number again and again and googled as well.. Saw a forumer in a very old forum asking about what to do with the mulch from that farm in 2008:eek: I really I might just top up the soil.. Will that help, @Verdun ?

I have 2 lovely pain au chocolat.. Soon, I will have to roll instead of walking, getting so fat on all these sweet stuff.. @Upsy Daisy Thank heavens for no more cakes.. I know you're the youngest here ... only just about... :p:p It's very difficult to lose weight after a certain age..

@Mark56 I must make sure I don't insert a  in your name as I did Logan..

Mark, you really have a magic touch, the lilac blooms are so beautiful .. Good heavens, the whole shrub is smothered by flowers.. Someone was giving one away, but I had no access to the car.. Seeing how beautiful yours is really makes me jealous.. Rose already?? I'm shocked. That must smell divine too.. If you know how dry it is here... you wouldn't mind waiting.. I have red geums in flower as well, but they are small.. because of the lack of water..

I'm still amazed by how early your Purple Sensation Alliums are Aym, is it the heat & drought? ;) We have a little amount of rain forecast this week, hope you do too, otherwise i'll have to send a tank load round to dump on the garden! Very lucky to have inherited these established lilac's, they are notorious for growing quite slowly & only blooming at a decent height. Any pictures of your geums? Mrs. Bradshaw red? Heavenly.

Please send in the tank, and tanks are even better, @Mark56

Yes, the geum (most probably Mrs Bradshaw) is quite red. But not from the seeds but reduced.. Flowers are quite small, but quite red and there is this dilemma - a plant with leaves exactly like those of geum is growing right next to an Iris.. I was looking back and forth to compare the leaves - none the wiser.. Will have to wait for the flowers to check. I also have a yellow one, I think.. If you live in town, it would be very silly not to go round next month to look for bargains like this.. Fiddling with seeds with my inhospitable lean to demoralises me.. Messy and the seedlings are not like those @johnny canoe or @Logan ... They are weak, tiny and pathetic..

The secret is to find the hottest and sunniest spot .. , preferably opened-up clay soil. Everything (not ericaceous lovers) bwill thrive including bamboos. I have 8 new shoots from no soil at all, but a tub of bathwater or kitchen water every day...

Will upload photos later.. Now to the wild wild west .. if @Logan has replied to my conversation - Mark, I have loaded the Longacre basket again... Just don't know whether to buy them if I am to move.. as that will be 12 items to move with... mama mia!

You just did not see my marigold seedlings. :D I planted and forgot about it! Yesterday I found it among the thickets. She stretched out. But I will give her a chance. Just add light, cold and ground when I transplant.

@Larisa You're so lucky with your marigold. My seedlings seem to dry from thirst now. Funny how cold it was in the morning and then at 1pm, it heats up very rapidly.

I have been out since 9am came into for 15 minutes' break at 12.40 and stopped sieving 2.10pm.. I'm going to have a good rest for the day.. Hope you all have an enjoyable gardening day...

We wait for warmth only next week.
My husband went to our country house and brought good news. Our apricots well survived the winter. We planted them last year.

We planted earlier too, but they all froze. It was always the "last chance". First the second "last chance", then the third .... This is the fourth "last chance". But this is really the last! :)

@Larisa Oh, lovely! Apricot.. I so want one. I remember seeing this one bursting with fragrance in a greenhouse. The apricot was so ripe in this National Trust property. I was so tempted.. to give it a pinch. Well, you know what I mean.. The aroma was just superb. It was a dwarf and I hope someone got to enjoy it. Such a waste if not. Larisa, you probably should get a tomatoes green house and put it in and put the whole thing in a conservatory. You can't be too careful. Hope your apricot fruits for you this year..

@alp I hope that apricots will at least grow, this is the northern selection.

I grow good tomatoes. This is a high plant, which gives a lot of sweet tomato. And I make canned food from my vegetables. :)
