Taking photo of this picotee always frustrates me.. as I can never capture the black collar which is another of its main feature. When the weather is good, I will go around with a brush to do some cross pollination.

This is the first of this mixed beauty. Strangely interesting. I have only got one plant in my whole garden.

It's collar is reasonably big too.

Now the last one.

This is the latest of the three. Love these little beauties!

There is only one of these plants in my garden. I am so glad that I moved it from the hot border to the back garden where there is a bit of shade.

Washbabies from TM and it also flowered last year on my birthday 28 January. This year it has been 20 days late. There is something very buddhist about it. Love it!

@granma Shame I go to bed 10pm and missed you, Hope you see you soon, but I know you're a night owl.. Or inbox me please.

@Logan Very mild here with a cuppa next to me.. Why does the tea taste so horrible??? I don't enjoy it as I used to.. Tea is just not fresh..

I have cleared MOST of my kitchen worktop and we are more or less back to civilization ie. the kitchen and lean to. Did a bit of edging yesterday and I have no idea where to put my sweetcorn.. or pak choi. I might have to clear the back.. of the garden..

Alp, perhaps your not back to normal just yet. You did well. I'll probably put my snap dragons in the lean to greenhouse and cover them with fleece. Usually the snails don't eat them.

@Logan I'm surprised you seeded snapdragons.. Here in my garden, I rip them up as soon as I saw them. The self seeded like forget me not or aquilegias, the common ones. All my Nora Barlow seeds died on me...:cry::cry::cry::cry:! and @Perki has kindly sent me Angelica seeds which I also killed and after killing them, I saw his faint handwriting .. something to do with stratification .. Wawawa.. and I cried like a baby ..:cry::cry::cry:! Another lost season! Imagine seeing bees inebriated among the flowers and they are so spectacular.. By the way, I remember a bee crashing into a label because of the colour of the flower

IMGA0014.JPG

I took this pic just to show how bees love the colours!

Yesterday, I had to relocated 4 common aquilegias.. to the back as they are a bit taller than those plants behind them..

Another dilemma is calendula.. One has already flowered.. Ooooooooooops, to cull or not to cull ... LOL!

Alp, shame about your seedlings, yes i do snapdragons, a good variety. Foreget me nots, i pull up as you say they get everywhere. Aquelligia their the same, i don't get around to dead head so I've got loads of them.Yes bees do that sometimes. I remember we went to a GC and son came with us and he had a bright yellow t-shirt on and a lot of pollen Beatles all over him. I'd take the flowers off the calendula until you can plant them.

LOL! Funny thing was that I could actually hear the crash .. The poor bee. I will leave the calendula for the time being and when I need room, I will pull them up. My alstroemerias are taking moving towards the kerb again.. Grrrrrrrrrr..

Have a nice day..

Today has been an awful day.. Today of all days, I really wanted to have an OH! I was too blasée .. I love bacon fat (no loved) bacon fat) It was the fat of a gammon joint which ruined my day.. Instead of grilling it, I put it into the toaster and I ate a bit.. and as I wanted it crispier, I tried again, but the toaster did not respond.. I didn't think much of it. I opened the fridge and all hell broke loose.. No power.. I went to the trip switch box and phoned my son, my ex, the friendly plumber .. and followed all the instructions, switched the buttons on and off and off and on .. In the end, I had to borrow a yellow pages from my deaf neighbour.. I felt very guilty as he was dozing off happily in the evening sun.. Any way, phoned again and realised the vultures using the yellow pages.. £90 plus VAT for the first hour, or £102 plus VAT for the first hour.. I nearly fainted:eek::eek::eek::cry::cry::cry:. Ex phoned and promised to pay for it if it was £90 per hour. I told him that there was no point switching on the other button as only the first one was for the light and the rest for the storage heater. He told me that I could be looking at the wrong switch board.. Lo and behold, there was another, much bigger one, next to this small one..:p:D:LOL::ROFLMAO:

ORDER WAS RESTORED!

What an awful day.. Of course, I also discovered that my dahlia seedlings which I lovingly repotted had all been toasted by the hot sun... 2 trays of them and they were the GIANT DAHLIAS..:cry::cry::cry:!

@Logan You've done well.. I was still tidying up my lean to and I repotted some scabious..

Finally, I have found my clematis macroplata seeds.. How hopeless I am!

Just love the vibrancy of this parrot tulip and Logan also has a pretty one on Tulip Fest thread.. She had been hiding them.

Oh alp sorry to hear about your day.....sounds awful:(.

We left early (well earlyish 7;45 am) for a lovely walk, loved spying all the gardens and parkland.......sooooo love springtime:D. We walked about 4 miles and stopped off at my dad's for refreshments :D It was a slower walk back...but I did it:D, first 'big' walk since my op.

The afternoon was spent mulching the borders with our own lovely compost, it was full of worms and looked really good.

Here goes.....going to attempt posting some pics of my seedlings.......
