Good morning to all to a very mild day! Some last snaps from RHS Hyde Hall

I really like this strange plant. It has the most vicious of leaves which look like those of a horrible weeds and yet it threw out all these lovely flowers like a tiered cake. It's planted on an exposed slope so it must be very drought resistant an sun loving.

Can you see the leaves? Very nasty spiky looking, but look at the tiers of bracts throwing out flowers. It reminds me of Eiffle Tower firework formation.

I feasted my eyes on the pink nerines here. @DeborahJane You might want to plant some of these. Nerine likes it very hot and sunny and can withstand drought.

Shame they are not mine. I have dug up about 5 bulbs and they are now at the back of the garden on concrete ground.

Have a nice day and happy snappy!

Morning!
Hope everyone is well

What can I say @alp .....weird......yet wonderful!:D:ROFLMAO:

Have a wizard weekend !

Haha! weird wonder! I love it though, especially the tiers ... nature always has something to amaze

Just done the lawn! Just sat down to cool off!

@Logan I have seen the weed-like leaves, but never given it a chance to develop. Don't think the weeds that I have seen myself are the same any way. Drizzly now.

I watered my hellebores after mowing the lawn yet again. Rained a bit around 7pm. Very mild here.

Started to sort out the borders and get them ready for winter ( and eventually spring) sowings and plantings.

First to tackle were the 3 raised beds.
Each has an unruly lavender in it that I had planned on chucking.......but I just can't bring myself to ditch a living plant :(. So gave them a haircut, and now they look OK ( well in my eyes :D) Dug out all the other plants and then added loads of compost and re-positioned them in their new 'home space' and added some Bellis and winter Pansies and quickly reburied some bulbs that were unearthed:eek:(y)

Hope to attempt a couple more beds tomorrow (y)

Sweet dreams everyone!:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

@Upsy Daisy i've got lavenders that are very woody, but i don't want to dig them up. They look ok when they're in flower and mix in with the roses. When you've not been in the garden for a while, it's nice to get back.:)(y)

Good morning: @Upsy Daisy Lavender will make you sleep very well. Why not chop the cuttings up and put some in a bowl in your rooms? I have a whole tray here to improve the air quality. I also have a live one here to aerate the room.

I need to weed the driveways as ex is coming on Tuesday and might put some lavenders on the hot and droughty border.
